I don’t think it has ever happened yet. I don’t think it will. So, falling down a hypothetical rabbit hole just to argue point/counterpoint is not going to happen either.
“Voice of Reason” doesn’t exactly suit you. Everyone knows you can’t stand Tomlin……you pick a fight wherever possible. You certainly have no respect for long time posters, ( you’ve only been on board for three months). So come after me. lipps had the best, non confrontational rebuttal, and you still criticized him. Either join the group and embrace it, or …..go away. Our fearless leaders on this board are about to dump it, so don’t be the one……
LOL, yeah, it won't. Not even close.
NFL Games Made Up 93% Of The Most Watched TV Programs In 2023The NFL’s new 11-year media rights agreement with its television partners kicked-in last year. Under the contract, NBC, CBS, Fox FOXA +0.3% and ABC/ESPN will, on average, pay an increase of 80% for the rights to televise/stream NFL games. Nielsen’s annual ranking of the 100 most watched programs in 2023, found the broadcast networks may have wound up with a bargain.
More Americans watched NFL games on TV in 2023 than any other programming, accounting for 93 of the 100 highest rated shows.
With people tuning out network TV's dreck in droves, the NFL is about the only thing they have left that's a sure thing. They'll continue to pay through the nose to carry NFL games for the foreseeable future.
Which means more yahoos on youtube or online blogs getting all kinds of clicks for their dumb clickbait and getting some youtube money. I see more casual fans dressin up their families in NFL gear to pose for pictures to post online than ever before.
And, now the streaming companies are starting to take over televising games.

Ah, so many things wrong with your statement. First, it's not that I can't stand Tomlin. I'm sure he's a great guy. It's his mediocre record I can't stand. I try not to pick fights, and actually only fight with people who have attacked me first. For example, I've never said a word against you, but you've now come on here and picked a fight with me. Which you'll then blame me for. And I certainly have respect for most of the posters here, including you. But in this post you have shown no respect for me. And if you think that lipps has been non-confrontational after all the snide remarks he's said about me just because I disagree with him about Tomlin, we certainly have a different definition of non-confrontational.
P.S. Are you one of the people on here who is confusing me with someone else?
Just an information pass on.
You've managed to upset 3 of the most friendly, welcoming, and conciliatory posters on this entire board.
I've been posting here for so long I don't remember and I've rarely if ever seen the posters who have negatively reacted to you react this strongly prior. The one time previously I can think of it was highly justified.
Me? I'm an argumentative know it all, so there's no worries there.
But I'd seriously consider why almost everyone but folks you seem to know from other places reacts the same way to your contributions.

1. Who are the three "friendly, welcoming, and conciliatory" posters I've managed to upset? Do you consider one of them to be Hawkman? How did I upset him? To the best of my recollection I've never previously replied to any post of his, and I've definitely never said one bad word about him in all my time on the board. Go back and read the post in this thread that he made to me yesterday. Are you going to tell me that was "friendly, welcoming, and conciliatory"?
2. Most of the posters on this board who have "negatively reacted to me this strongly" have been people like you who have confused me with another board member and thus have attacked me for posts that were made by somebody else. I suspect that that's what you're doing right now. Maybe Hawkman too.
3. I've had many friendly conversations with people on this board who I didn't know before I came here. As a matter of fact, one of the most respected senior posters on this board, when he saw how I was being bashed, made it a point to tell you guys that he had no problem with me.
I'll defend myself when attacked, but I'm really not interested in "picking fights" with anybody. In my last post to lipps83 I even said that I was going to stop making any more personal remarks about him whether he continued to insult me or not. I'll make the same offer to you. Let's just talk about the Steelers and stop with all the personal stuff.
I am not attacking you for anything. I really couldn't give a crap what people do or do not post. Please feel free to do whatever you wish whenever you wish.
But you seem to express genuine confusion/concern/irritation regarding how people have responded to some of your posts here.
I can not and do not wish to speak about the specifics of each poster and why they reacted how they did.
All I am trying to tell you is that the individuals you have expressed an issue with across several threads are, indeed, some of the most welcoming folks on here. If you find yourself at odds or cross-purposes with them...it might be worth thinking about how or why that happened.
I don't have the answers. Nor do I really care what they are - you would have to take the issue(s) directly to the source.
I periodically argue and snap at everyone on here. But in reality, I don't have a problem with anyone in a way that matters to me - can't speak for them I hope we can continue to talk about whatever.
I have no problem with VOR. I think he is genuinely trying to get along on here, he's said it in his posts a few times now. He's a new member let's give him a chance.
Some people strive/desire to be better. It is what separates well paid people from minimum wage people. Some people are doctors, CEOs, lawyers, engineers, business owners etc... while some people are burger flippers.
If the Jags won you would be saying, "Well the Steelers didn't have a losing season." The Steelers could be 9-8 for the next 40 years with 0 playoff wins, and you would be content. Right? No losing seasons, right? Hurray for mediocrity![]()

Here's a liberal that cries when someone doesn't agree with him.

And the Steelers could go 0-17 for the next 40 years and you would be content. See how that works?
