    Week 15: Denver

Well, the playoff race just got a lot more interesting. With Dalton, Eifert, and a banged up 2ndary, the Bengals look like a candidate to lose more than they would have before.

Still, I'm not counting on them to lose out, so it's looking like we'll still have to win out.

I can't believe I actually want to see Peyton play against us for once

The offense has to score TD next week and Blake needs to take a job as a security guard.

I'm watching Osweiler right now. Have a feeling he'd have better success against us than a rusty Peyton.

Denver is the only AFC team that legitimately scares me right now, besides the Steelers.

Not only is their Offense proven to be pretty good with Osweiler, but they actually have a damn good Defense.

This will be he best defense the Steelers offense has faced and probably the worst defense the Broncos have faced (I say that without looking).

Their offense is average even with Osweiler(Still better than Manning as QB) but their defense is the best in the NFL.

If Alex Smith and company put up 29 on them in their own backyard, we can put up 30+ on them in Heinz.

    Re: Week 15: Denver

yeah i think they match up against us a lot better than the seahawks do. 3 very good cornerbacks. Heath needs to be a big part of the game plan.

i think we ought to limit testing the deep ball here. seriously guys, im all for the big play and setting up the big play, but some of the picks Ben has made this season are just really uncharacteristic of him. some have just been awful under/overthrows into double coverage. does that really constitute "setting up the big play?"

and before someone says "oh, well its basically a punt," picking up a 1st down/not turning the ball over would be a nice alternative

It helps than Manning was so awful in this game......This is not impossible but this is a true test for the offense...

I agree, it would be a nice alternative. But, I'd also take a punt downed inside the five, especially when more points aren't essential to a win. And truly, that's what that pick was.

It also depends whether they'll be allowed to mug our receivers all day like Seattle did or not.

Sorry, Brock Osweiler does not exactly strike fear in my heart, folks.

would be nice if the broncos didnt have a move tight end like vernon davis. how much do you want to bet the game today would have been closer with Eifert in

Agreed, as for Manning & Rottweiler, I'm having a hard time to seeing the Broncos putting Manning back in at this point. I really don't think it matters, if Ben & the entire O plays well we win.

No, but Tebow in a Broncos uniform should strike indigestion.

LeBeau should have been handed his walking papers immediately after that game, IMO. Inexcusable letting that scrub go off the way he did. But, since Steeler Nation's all-time favorite scapegoat was still in town (Arians), he got all the blame (and subsequently lost his job) for it...

well he's thrown those types of picks when points were essential. it happened against the patriots, rams, raiders, and the bengals today AND earlier this season.

come on, i love Ben to death but i know im not the only one who sees this. i think we all know by now that Ben is smart enough not to make those throws. not trying to stir the pot but i think tomlin and/or haley are overencouraging him to force those throws. id rather this offense be efficient than insanely explosive, more in the mold of last season (where its not like we werent very explosive either)

Agreed, but he'll never be completely cured of his "gunslinger" tendencies. Gotta take the bad with the good as far as that goes.

I'm actually not arguing with you. In general, I'd like him to be a little more careful as well. I was just saying today's pick, inside the 5, was just as good, if not better, than a punt in that it did flip field position and pinned them deep in their half of the field.

But, also like FS says, that's Ben, and you're going to get that from him. Gotta take the good with the bad, and that's the bad. Of course, when you look at his pics vs. TDs, it's worth taking as well. But it is pretty frustrating at times.

Hmm i dont know if i completely agree with this. i thought last season, he honestly came very close to having a laser precise year with a crazy TD/INT ratio along the lines of Brady/Rodgers/Manning in their finest years. hell, i think if our offense as a whole was pretty healthy all season, i think Ben would be having another year with a 3:1 or 4:1 TD to INT ratio. Some of the picks Ben threw last season werent necessarily high risk/reward throws, they were just throws he could have stood to clean up a bit. I really think Ben can pull off a 5:1/6:1 TD to INT ratio if he just cleans a couple things up

They were great in the first half(negative yards for the raiders) but they are not good in the second half

Raiders are getting to Osweiler. We need to bring that pressure.

The Raiders won that game with:

    126 total yards
    8 1st downs
    10 Punts
    2.3 yards per play

The Broncos Defense is still great....

Nope. I'm still holding out hope for a first-week bye. Silly, I know, but until it's mathematically impossible, I'm going to keep on hoping . . .
