You see how QBs "fake the handoff" and how QBs hand off but "fake having the ball".
If QB hands the ball off but "pretends" that he still has it and a defender drills him, is that a penalty?

I think you can tackle anyone who fakes having the ball.
id say no (unless the defender puts his full weight into the hit), bu then again i think a lot of flags should be never thrown
.
For those i love i will sacrifice.

If Tom Brady is the quarterback, it's a penalty.
If the Steelers are on defense, it's a penalty.
If Ben is the quarterback, it's not a penalty.
If the Ratbirds are on defense, it's not a penalty.
All other situations are a judgement call.
That would not be a penalty unless Brady, Rodgers, or Peyton were the QBs
No penalty. You can hit anyone who has faked having the ball. Unless there is a new rule about that as well.
Speaking of Miss Brady, I was listening to that game while driving home from Virginia and the announcer was saying that on one hit, Brady was looking at the ref expecting a penalty. He is pretty much of a p&ssy, isn't he? Because of spygate I honestly don't think he is anything special. If he doesn't' know the defense and is pressured, he folds like a lawn chair. It is an absolute shame that someone like him will be in the Hall of Fame one day, an absolute shame.
That's really nothing for Brady. I've seen him get tackled and then turn to the ref and actually make that flag-throwing motion with his arm that receivers usually do when they're bitching about interference. And get the flag, too. That might have even been against us.
As for the rest, yes, what a complete pussy and singlehandedly half the reason the game is so fucked up right now. The thought of him being in the hall of fame makes me want to kick someone in the balls. I hope they find out he committed some horrible crime and he doesn't get in. It would probably take something like child molesting - which seems pretty big among sports figures these days - but that actually is too fucked up to hope for, even if it's Brady. Maybe if they caught him having sex with animals or something. That's more like it.
I actually remember a different game than that, where he was lying on the ground when he made the flag motion and it was more demonstrative. But still a total bullshit call on a next-to-nothing hit, except that he actually did get knocked down. The one you had wasn't it, but I can't find any video of the one I'm talking about. Still, what a pussy. In the meantime, let's enjoy this video courtesy of 2008 MVP Bernard Pollard.
Well, if all those things happen, yeah, probably. But if he continues on the course he's on with the ridiculous fines and heavy-handed discipline, pimping an 18-game schedule, insisting on trying to host the Super Bowl in London at some point, etc., etc., the product on the field will continue to suffer, the Sunday and Monday night offerings (along with all the other games) will continue to go to crap, and revenue eventually WILL drop, precipitously. I know I'm only one person, but I am THIS close to tuning out permanently, and I know I'm not alone. I'm simply not a fan of the 100-yard Arena League he's largely responsible for turning the NFL into. I know he has his defenders here, and they have some valid points in defense of him, but in my personal opinion, the league is suffering under his leadership, and the game is becoming more and more unwatchable with each passing year.
The statistics tell a different story.
Per 100 pass attempts, Brady gets .16 RTP penalties (1 call every 625 pass attempts). Roethlisberger gets .20 (1 call every 500 attempts).
Even if you want to argue Ben gets knocked around more (Ben hit 56 times this season, Brady hit 46 times), Brady still only gets 1 flag a year - not exactly a HUGE advantage.

That's not the issue, jerky. It's that when our quarterback gets tackled or bonks heads with someone, he doesn't get up bitching about it, and he isn't part of a big soap opera that causes new rules to be named after him in the offseason.
It's that most roughing-the-passer calls anywhere in the game today - against Brady, Ben or anyone else - are bullshit flags that shouldn't have been thrown in the first place, and the reason they're thrown is because Brady and a handful of other QBs are fragile, dramatic, self-centered pussies. Who unfortunately draw a disproportionate amount of attention because they're vocal and have big contracts, so here we are talking about new rules for "protecting your investment," and other absurdities like giving the QB special protection from shots to the head when probably 0% of the players with brain issues after retiring are QBs and 99% are linemen, RBs and LBs.
It's not about the rules favoring one team over another. It's about too many stupid rules and horseshit penalties turning the game into a farce. Penalties have seriously become such a central focus of the game that they're like the fourth unit, more important than special teams and just behind offense and defense. That's fucked up. When they call roughing the passer for a phantom hit on Ben, I'm not standing up and cheering; I feel a little fortunate in the immediate short term in a dumb-luck sort of sense, but overall far more embarrassed, and mortified that they would screw up the game like that. And all for what? To protect a handful of irritating glam-rock QBs. You get hit, you get up and move on to the next play; that's what the rule needs to be. Like our QB does. Christ almighty.
Funny thing, I am about that close to turning it all off too. Personally, I hate the showmanship side of the game now, and I don't mean the players. It seems like the NFL is trying to squeeze every last penny out of every second of the game. I'd honestly not be too surprised in the future to hear, "This sack was brought to you by Billy's bail bonds. Go to jail, we'll help you make bail - and just to be clear, that has nothing to do with the fact that Ray Lewis made the sack."
But, for every fan that leaves, another two will show up. For them, the game is great, because they don't remember anything else.
I saw an ad in a magazine with a very homo looking Brady. It was for Ugg boots. The caption was "Tom wears the Butt(e)".
He's such a pole smoker....
