The reason why Pickett is under center (Or maybe on the team at all) was because the fans wanted it after becoming impatient with Trubisky. Turns out Mitch wasn't the biggest problem on offense and Kenny wasn't an upgrade no matter how many fans thought he would be. I could name a few other things the fans are responsible for as well, but I don't expect you to stop following the team because of it, even though I'm giving that notion a fair amount of consideration myself. I wasn't even supposed to be posting anything until after the last game of the season, per my previous post and personal convictions, but this claim was just too juicy to ignore.

ditto with the defense, it hasn't changed since lebeau left. the same off coverage when the corners standing 100 ft away from the receiver. it's almost like playing prevent on every down, asking to get dink and dunked every play. I understand the concept of tackling the catch, but what good is that when the tackle is made 10+ yards down the field.
It works when the other QB you're playing is more mistake prone like a Jimmy G or Watson, but when you play a good QB it's almost always a bad day for the D unless Watt plays out of his mind.

It's easy to say these QBs did this and that against this defense and our QB did this...but you can never really make that judgement. Put Howell and Dobbs on this offense and it's still just as much of a dumpster fire, imo. Canada's offense doesn't work. It hasn't worked since he's been here and the way things look...it will never work.

Well yeah…Dobbs showed he couldn’t do it in this offense. Howell wouldn’t do it either.
He was here last year with some of the same personell...and I don't see much different one way or the other....
There is a lot wrong with this team before you get to Austin. I truly believe that Austin got burned by the decision/belief that a variety of other players could replace and/or improve on Sutton and Edmunds. Long term? Likely true, but it was gonna be tough sledding in 2023 to get to that point...
I always liked Dobbs and thought he was a better QB than Mason. But we gave Mason chance after chance for I don't know what reason. Who's fault is that? COACHING. Heck, even Ben thought more highly of Dobbs obviously. Ben treated Dobbs like the #2 guy, and Dobbs obviously did his homework.
with that said, under the can't-nada offense, i doubt anyone could succeed

Last years defense looked better than this seasons defense. I agree that there’s way more wrong with the team before you get to Austin and maybe keeping Austin was better, worse, the same…but the problem is that the defense is on the list of problems. May be down the list a bit but it’s on there…
Also…enough with the Warren is better than Harris nonsense. He’s not.

This is a 100% accurate description of it. The defense hasn't worked for years, since the tail end of Troy's career. Every single season there is a glaring weakness - usually at DB but sometimes elsewhere too - that renders it a total crapshoot which defense is going to show up for any given game. The only guarantee is that the top teams in the league ALWAYS manage to be up 4 touchdowns by halftime against it.

agree, this is not tennis. QB performance is dependent on so many things, the o line, play calls, effectiveness of the running game, receiver routes….
Hurries, hits, sacks, ypc, rushing ypa, got to piece all those together to understand what’s going on when comparing performances of QB’s. There’s also watching the games too.
