Landry Jones Highlight Reel
Landry Jones - XFL MVP Season One! Patriots sign him and he leads them to 3 more Super Bowl wins!
I didn't know the Steelers tried to pick Landry up when Ben was injured.

I think we would all like to know how things would have gone if Jones or Dobbs had a shot at this current situation...….or both!
We can't undo what has been done, and looking back doesn't really help anyway.
The moral of the story here is that many fans are finding out for the first time what rooting for an NFL team is like when the QB isn't very good.
Landry Jones winning Super Bowls for the Patriots isn't the mental image I was looking for!
They'll score as long as they can get into the endzone![]()
They didn’t take him in R1.
They didn’t take him in R2.
He was taken in R3... for a reason.
After Rudolph was drafted, Ben slammed the pick. So, in order to massage Rudolph’s ego, they stated that they had a R1 grade on him.
It’s akin to me telling my wife that she looks great in that dress. “Which dress?” you ask. EVERY dress.
There's also the 2 issues that: 1) The Steelers FO had no way of knowing Rudolph wasn't a R1 prospect and 2) Rudolph may *actually be* a R1 prospect.
His only problem right now is confidence. He never displayed this in college and it can be fixed. If you take someone with Rudolph's skill, work ethic, and football IQ and infuse Duck's attitude... you have a pretty good QB.
"You've heard people brag about 'being in the zone'. They don't know what the Hell being in the zone is about. I played in the NFL for 15 years and I was only in the zone that one time." - "Mean" Joe Greene on the 1974 playoff victory over Oakland
I think they really did have a first round grade on him and that is alarming. Those big 12 defenses are bad. Many QB's look good playing against them until they get to the NFL and teams figure them out. Landry Jones and Baker Mayfield come to mind.
Rudolph wasn't a bad gamble for round 3, but he just doesn't have what it takes to be starting material. I see no part of his game that is above average to build around.
His release looks a little slow, he's too easy to sack, he isn't accurate to hit player on the move. The arm is average. He's a check down type of QB. I have more hope for Duck, who's a rookie, and IMO has plus accuracy and mobility to his game.
Trade back into the 1st round and draft a QB. Ben is 38 and is coming back off an elbow injury and the Steelers have NOTHING to replace him with

This is what happens when you neglect the QB position and let the franchise QB decide how the Offense is run and install his completely unqualified friend at OC.
You get an offensive shitshow that is the 2019 Steelers. Ben, Rudolph, Duck, it didn't make a lick of difference. No Antonio Brown to cover up the glaring flaws, and we have seen them front and center.
It's not the quarterback. The Offense is simply garbage on a much deeper level. The Offensive Line blows, the WR's are mediocre, and our backs are not good overall.
We have no Quarterback Coach to help the young guys.
Our top RB is made of glass and not a true workhorse.
Our top WR is not a #1 guy. Period.
Reality struck big time for the Steelers this season.
Rudolph's arm strength actually looks legit when he does step into his throws. Unfortunately dude got injured, but played pretty well for that limited time
Agree. If he could have stayed in the game I think the Steelers had a chance to pull out the win.
I am betting on another separated shoulder (AC joint), so likely Duck going next week with the start. Oh well, almost time to start looking at talent for the upcoming draft.
This post would be so much better if the topic was OC-- What Are We Doing ???
You never find the replica of your franchise QB.
We might have to really consider .
I think we really need to consider finding revamping ournoffense for a dual threat QB.
As if this moment, I'm strongly consider Cam Newton.
Cam ain’t coming unless Ben is done with football
