    Gameballs.

    Steelers whip the Niners 43-18!

Ben Roethlisberger ties Terry Bradshaw for all time wins as a Steeler QB!

    Balls:

The whole team gets one. Great rebound from last week.

    Ben had a fantastic game.
    Antonio Brown is Antonio Brown.

And I'd also like to give one to the Defense too. One big hiccup aside, the Defense played really well that had shades of Defenses of old. D-Line was monstrous and Ryan Shazier is a monster.

    Re: Game Ball

I give it to Antonio Brown, DeAngelo Williams and Ben Roethlisberger on Offense. On defense it's Shazier and the D-Line. No doubt.

Obviously Big Ben. Great game. Don;t think he made a bad read all game.

But also give major props to the o-line. No sacks, Ben had a solid pocket all game. Carved out good running lanes as the game went on.

On defense obviousy Shazier. Looked like an All Pro out there today.

Also give an honorable mentionto Tuitt and DuPree.

Enough to go around for everyone, but the defense gets an extra one. It was lovely to see 3-4 Steelers in the backfield for nearly 4 quarters.

Steelers O-Line was solid as well. This line has made some great strides in the last couple seasons...

I give Bryant my game ball. The offense was awesome today, and when he gets back it should be unstoppable.

    FIFY.

And kudos to Haley for keeping super runt off the field for a change so he couldn't lose yardage and kill drives.

Agreed, I think the pass rush helped the secondary big time.

Yes and no. We saw some flashes today of very good DB play. Boykin had a nice defended pass in the endzone. There was one series where Blake literally disrupted every play, not to mention laying the wood a few times. Mitchell showed up as well.

I know everyone wants our DBs to be light's out every game (I sure do), but we forget that the whole has to be greater than the sum, and that only comes with playing side-by-side at real-game speed. The fact it took one game for them to adjust to each other is a pretty good indication of what may come. I'm not slating them for the cover of SI or anything, but absolutely wouldn't call it a nightmare today, and think there very well may be daylight soon.

What stood out to me was the two (or was it three?) drives the Steelers slammed the door on the 49ers inside the five yard line it seemed, and they did it both with the O line and also with the DBs. All around a great effort.

    ----------------
Game ball (usual suspects): Roethlisberger, Brown, O line (wait, did I put the O line in usual suspects for game ball, rather than goat?)

Game Ball (stepped up their game): DHB. He caught the ball! More than once! And in big play situations! Shazier. D line. DeAngelo Williams. Coaches

HM. Blake, Mitchell, Who ever was responsible for getting DeAngelo Williams.

Goat: Whoever was responsible for bringing in Scobee.

Notice in garbage time, Todman was in the last offensive series. They should keep him and boot super runt.

I'm nort throwing in the towel on Scobee yet. He has a proven NFL predigree. Kickers sometimes go through slumps. Suisham would never have been a Steeler if he hadn't had a monumental slump with the Skins.

The good news is he really hasn't cost us a game yet. I know the game against the Pats could potentialy have played out different if he makes those early kicks. But I wouldn't go so far as to say that made the difference.

Anyway I think there's a good chance this guy wins a game or two with a long pressure kick before the season's done. One thing's for sure. Returns aren't nearly the concern with Josh as they were with Suishy.

In all honesty, I agree. It's pretty frustrating to watch right now, but if he can get over it... I do like seeing the ball going through the end zone, however. Isn't it strange, thinking back to a couple years ago, that we're now all wishing Squishy was healthy because he's such a good FG kicker? Interesting how things turn around.

Extra point. Bounced it off the left upright. His second one was good, but was way too far to the left for anyone's liking.

Damn near missed hs second PAT attempt too. Just skimmed it through the left upright. But he was right down Broadway onn the last couple. So hopefully he's got it figured out.

To the coaches, for finally figuring out they had to get the guys to communicate with one another, especially on defense.

Take care of the fundamentals and we will have this feeling almost every week. Listen, learn, communicate, execute. Nothing fancy, win every battle and especially the next one.

Kudos to the whole team, but some of this should have been looked after in pre season.

Archer and Landry, exit, stage left. NOW.

I don't know how, but I completely forgot Pouncey was out. Could you imagine the running lanes with him in there? Especially at the second level?
