JuJu Smith-Schuster limited by knee injury but plans to be OK by camp

Smith-Schuster won't disclose the nature of the injury but plans to be a full participant for training camp, which opens July 26. The Steelers have sidelined Smith-Schuster for all 11-man work in organized team activities and minicamp.

"Just something that's been bothering me over time," said Smith-Schuster of the injury. "Kind of just adds up and lets me know, 'Yo, I need to get it checked out.' We got it checked out."

I assume Ju Ju already is a Tomlin favorite, but this savvy response (as opposed to those of a certain vet who loves to share the details of his injuries) presumably gets Ju Ju bonus points with Tomlin

As for what has kept him out this summer, Smith-Schuster referred to a team policy – one that isn't necessarily always strictly adhered to – that only coach Mike Tomlin divulges details on injuries.

Asked if he'd had a procedure performed on his injury, Smith-Schuster replied, "You can talk to Mike Tomlin about that. You know not to ask me those questions. Come on."
