It hurt to write this one! But I couldn't break my poem streak :-)
It was a day we remembered Sept 11’s 10th anniversary year
And we were happy football season was finally here
Ravens vs. Steelers - usually a slugfest
But they were ready - we got their best
We went to the same bar like we have done before
But a frozen screen sent us out the door
I missed the 1st quarter but the Ravens scored twice
First by Boldin - then by Rice
These were not our Steelers in Baltimore that day
Only managing one touchdown play
We were down by a lot but continued to fight
Unfortunately Ben kept giving it to someone in white
Congratulations Ravens - Ben started and you still won
Flacco finally managed to get it done
This game counts but it’s the ones in January that really matter
When you can beat us then - we’ll hear your chatter
This one was hard to write after such a bad beating
But that just fuels the fire for our next meeting
Next up is the Seahawks for our opener at home
Let’s hope I can write a winning poem
Here’s to referees who make the right call
To a fair game and getting back to Steeler football
