ESPN QB rankings. Here we go again.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/preview11/sto...l-starting-qbs

    5. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers
Analysis: Roethlisberger barely made the top 10 in the new QBR ratings. He concedes statistics to Philip Rivers and Matt Ryan, but he has two Super Bowl rings and a 10-3 playoff record. In fourth quarters and late in games, he's dangerous.

    Rank them:
    http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/rank...d=36&listId=23

    Scouts:

    5 Ben Roethlisberger

    93

    AGE: 29

    DOB: 3/2/82
    HT: 6-5
    WT: 241
    POS: QB

    Att 389
    Comp 240
    Yds 3,200
    TD 17
    Int 5
    QBR 59.8

    Player Analysis

Roethlisberger is a big, strong-armed quarterback with above average athleticism. He has quick feet for his size and can slide and improvise to make effective throws downfield.

Roethlisberger is the toughest quarterback in the league to get on the ground with great instincts to avoid pressure and natural body strength to break tackles. He has great vision and patience to find his second and third options but can be a bit of a gambler.

I would agree completely with where he falls into this ranking and it would be hard to argue he is higher other than the argument of his 2 rings compared to the rest other than Marsha. His first ring he was horrible in the superbowl albeit he was amazing in the playoffs to get us there. I am glad we have him on the Steelers because I love his style of play and his toughness but if it wasn't for his ability to shed tacklers he would not have anywhere near the wins and stats that he does have now.

I see they're using the stupid-ass ESPN quarterback rating instead of the real QB rating.

Neither does "top 5 QB," because there are at least 25 of those in the league now too.

Yes. He's an elite dog killer. WOOF!

I put Ben at #3 in my rankings. Boo Boo Rivers doesn't make my Top 7 and WTF has Vick ever won except a poker game in the pokey?

Brees, Rodgers, Ben, Brady and Manning are Top-5. At this very minute I would say my Top 3 are Rodgers, Brees, Ben.

They should just rank him 31st to be honest

I think this is a fair assessment.

so if he would of got that 3rd ring they would of ranked him 6th because he is a aging star that gets beaten up .

If Ben had a better OL, he wouldn't have to shed all of those tacklers and improvise so much. Put most of those guys behind the same OL as Ben and they wouldn't put up the same numbers either. You also have to remember that most of those other QBs play in a much more pass heavy offense, unlike Ben.

What kills me about the way those talking heads say Vick is elite is he has one good season and, now he the cats meow. Please look at his completion percentage through is career like in the 56% or so that is not elite. As fas as cry me a Rivers goes call me when he wins a big game. I would still take Ben over any other qb in the league especially with the make shift oline we have had since 2006.

I agree and it's price we pay for having the def we do...... I wouldn't take any other QB for our team but I can't say he is better than the other 4 either.....
