Thome back to the Tribe???
Indians were awarded the claim to Jim Thome today off waivers. They have 48 hours to make a trade. I'll be at the game Sunday...will it be a celebratory reunion for the newest member of the 600 club and his old team? Butts will be in seats if it is....

Re: Thome back to the Tribe???
It's official. Thome is back! He'll be playing in tonights game as an Indian. Welcome back Jim!
I remember when he left he had an interview with a local sportswriter and he asked the guy "do you think I'll ever be able to come back to Cleveland?" Well, now we all know...

Love having him back with us. I hope it's enough to keep us in the race

Re: Thome back to the Tribe???
I was at the game Sunday (sat 9 rows behind home plate...Suh-WEET! seats!). Thome came on to pinch hit late in the game and struck out on 4 pitches. BUT he received a standing O (as he did in the two previous games). He was directly responsible for the 8500 walk-ups on Friday which led to a sell-out. He still has some pop, and they need a clean-up DH, o it's a good fit that way, but I think his real appeal is he electrifies the crowd and puts butts in seats. Little things in baseball make big differences, and after losing 6 of 7, they've won 3 of 4 since his return. They are still 6.5 back, but they play Detroit 6 more times, so anything could happen.

Damn nice seats. We are still in the race. Detroit has been tough but with some help and some wins the divison can be ours

Re: Thome back to the Tribe???
Took 2 of 3 from the Royals and 3 of 4 from the A's and gained all of one lousy game.
Sizemore was 3-3 last night in Akron, so he's close to coming back. Of course, Choo is on the DL now. They seem cursed with injuries this year.

Well, it's time to utter those fateful 3 words:
Maybe.
Next.
Year.
