Some Teams/Coaches are tough to understand

For the life of me, I can't imagine what Pete Carroll and the Seahawks are thinking. I watched Tavares Jackson look totally inept the whole first half against the Vikings and Carroll has said that Jackson is his starting QB. Charlie Whitehurst comes in, doing the same thing he did last week and at some moments last season and is just throttling the Vikings all over the field. Quick decisions, accurate passes, totally looks in command. This guy looks and executes like a starting QB. I can't imagine what that team is thinking.

Pete has failed at every stop he has made in the NFL. He is one of those ra ra coaches I just can't stand. He is simply put a college coach at best. A cheating college coach to boot. IMO Hasselbeck was a better choice then either Tavarius or Charlie. The Seahawks GM is to blame for that though. I would have got rid of Matt after their Super Bowl loss. He still had value then and they could have made some moves. This also stems from Mike Holmgrens love affair he had with Matt. This year getting rid of a vet that "in their division" was a proven winner made little sense to me. With that said I can only agree wiith you on this Pep.... Why on gods green earth would you start Tavarius Jackson over of Charlie Whitehurst. It too makes no sense what so ever to me.

there's simply no reason to use Tarvaris Jackson as your starting QB. He knows his division rival Harbaugh is also eyeing his college QB, and will do anything to get him first

Seahawks won't be bad enough to get Luck. Of course they could try to trade up, I'm sure lots of teams will. Barkley could be an option for Carroll and the seahawks to look at too. He is familiar with him.

That #1 pick will be very valuable next year.

As bad as they might be, Whitehurst has made them look good the last two weeks when given the opportunity

They brought up an interesting point about Tate... The guy likes to catch the ball with his body and not his hands... Why the heck would you draft him in te first place.. To me it's comman knowledge recievers have to catch with their hands. That pass last night was a perfect example had he reached out and caught with his hands he would have caught the pass.. The Shehawks are screwing up across the board.

guy has absolutely zero pocket presence and is just shaky out there in every play. I realize the seahawks line is in shambles, but he did have a great vikings line in front of him his first 3-4 years, and did nothing with that either

Plus he's been playing with the same coordinator he's had since entering the league. Is it the system? where do you think he'd be any better? Their system uses a lot of short throws, but he does seem to be even worse in those situations

Tate has been pretty bad since entering the league. I always thought Sanders was the mid round receiver to draft, so we lucked out that the hawks got Tate first after all the Ward comparisons

No matter how you spin it Tavaris Jackson is in no way, shape or form an every day starter in the NFL. He consistently makes poor decisions time and time again. He'll show a flash every once in a while, but as a while package, he's not a starter as far as talents go.

And any team banking on Andrew Luck is screwed for years to come. Hell, Luck may not even have the same draft status that he had this year...ask Jake Locker how that worked out for him...

The o-line looks bad when you have a bad QB.The good QB is capable of playing with the bad o-line.

I can not believe that the Seahawks will go with Jackson as QB. Its going to be a disaster.

Anointing Jackson the starter without have even throwing a pass in training camp, along with the drafting of Carpenter in the first has really caused me to doubt Pete Carroll.

Since day one Pete Carroll has preached competition as if it were the gospil. The first thing Pete Carroll said when he was hired is that "competition would be the central building block of this program". Up until Jackson was named the starter it looked like that was the case. Naming Jackson the starter before he had even thrown a pass in training camp, was incongruent with everything he had done and said up until that point. Moreover Pete Carroll actually has draft capital tied up in Charlie Whitehurst, whom is in the last year of his contract.

As it turns out naming Jackson the starter has backfired, big time on Pete Carroll. Sando and various beat writers have stated that Whitehurst has looked better than Jackson in camp. That isn't even half of it either--- Whitehurst has out performed Jackson in a big way during the preseason. Whitehurst looks more natural in the offense that Jackson has been in for the last 5 years.

Jackson completely folds, and does not even use his hot read under pressure. He looks very uncomfortable, and is not getting the ball out of his hand quickly. Jackson looks unsure of where to go with the ball. He hesitates with his decisions. Whitehurst on the other hand has been the polar opposite of Jackson. Whitehurst has been getting the ball out quickly, and when he's blitzed he knows exactly where to go with the ball. He does not hesitate under pressure like Jackson, and his decisions are more decisive. Pete Carroll's excuse for making him the starter---"because he knows the offense" is looking like a weak justification for making Jackson the undisputed starter.

Carpenter was another move that left me feeling utterly perplexed. I believe that Saban said when he said "Wow, Carpenter in the first round??" I'm sure everyone else thought the same thing, I know I did. It is my belief that if you draft a RT or interior lineman in the first round they had better contribute immediately. Carpenter is only not contributing, but is also a huge liabillity. He's getting bullied by every pass rusher he faces, and he's even getting pushed around by 3rd stringers. Carpenter looks dreadful and is on the verge of losing the starting job to former Greenbay practice squad UDFA Giacomie(sp?). To add insult to injury Gabe Carimi was avalible when Carpenter was drafted, and is looking very good in Chicago.
