Ravens Beat Chiefs, Run Up Score In Low-Class, Scumbag Move

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 31-13 tonight.

It was a pretty good game but ended in an embarrassing fashion as the Baltimore Ravens ran up the score in the final minutes, calling timeouts and throwing long passes.

After QB Ricky Stanzi threw an interception with just over a minute left, the Ravens took the field for what everyone assumed would be a couple of kneel downs to wrap things up. Instead the Ravens ran a play action pass and launched a deep ball to set themselves up in the red zone. The Ravens them proceeded to call time outs to ensure they had time to punch in one last touchdown with five seconds left.

Todd Haley was clearly not happy, nor were the folks in the AA live game chat

The Chiefs were clearly expecting the Ravens to kneel the ball and end the game. Instead they launched it deep off of play action. This was the cheapest of all cheap shots. They then furthered the embarrassment by calling timeouts and punching it in.

The only thing the young Ravens learned from those few extra plays was how not to win with dignity. It was a classless move by the Ravens and their head coach Jim Harbaugh. To hide behind a “we were trying to help our young players” excuse is ridiculous. Harbough should have known better.

What else are they to expect from the Ratbirds.

I really don't have a major problem with this, personally.

No surprise, the Ratbirds have done this before. They want to run up the score to make the game seem more lopsided than it really was

More importantly, they exposed themselves unnecessarily to added player injury.

The irony of it is that if the shoes were switched, Harbaugh would be whining like a little bitch. Book it.

I'm going to agree here. The whole point of preseason games is to evaluate the rosters, especially the younger and lower string guys who will be fighting for those few final spots. The score is really pointless.

If you have a bunch of guys on offense who are on the fringe of the roster and haven't had many snaps yet, would you rather take a couple knees in the last minute or run a few plays to see how they respond? Practically speaking you would want to get as many snaps out of them as you can. It may be unconventional, but it's not crazy. Had it been a regular season game it would be different.

Their "first" team looked like shit IMO. Flacco looked like he took three steps back and his young soon to be all pro recievers looked lost the whole first half. I was pleased to see them suck so bad!!! Especially their old ass D... Their D looked like a shadow of its former self..
