    Replay of the pens islanders

Direct TV is going to replay the pens/islanders street fight on Feb 11, 2010

15 fighting majors, 11 game misconducts and 346 penalty minutes. The refs should be ashamed of how they let this game get so out of hand. It definitely was something you don't see everyday it was clearly a Islanders goon event. Shero ...not impressed.

I think they said there has only been 1 other game like this one.

They are calling it Hockey Night Live: Summer Ice P on friday 8/19 Channel 635 @ 5:00 PM and
10:00 PM, Saturday 8/20 10:00 AM all times are Pacific...check your local listings.

If you have comcast or any other cable company u r on your own.

Dude, there have been PLENTY of games like that one, and far worse. Games like that would happen on a regular basis during the bench-clearing brawl era of the 70s and 80s, and less often in the 90s. The Sens/Flyers game in March 2004 currently holds the record for most combined PIMs in a game with 419.

An Islanders' fan group is also showing this game at a meetup on Long Island, and it has been getting a LOT of media attention, much of it negative:

Personally, I thought it was an entertaining game and if I had DirecTV, I'd watch it again just for the mayhem.

Here's the invite from the Islanders official website:

The night of February 11, 2011 was memorable for Isles fans. Whether you were in the stands at the Coliseum or watching on TV, you were on your feet through all the ruckus cheering for the Islanders to beat the Penguins. On Friday August 19th, MSG Plus will re-air the game and we want the fans to join us for a viewing party at Champions. Same awesome deal as usual, raffles, prizes and more. RSVP now and remember to there early and get a table with your friends. Stay tuned to #Isles and #IslesMeetup for all the latest and for more information.
Stay classy Islanders and Islander's fans. We see that the classy hockey fans of New York are Ranger fans.

Come on. If the Pens promoted a meetup and showed the previous game when Brent Johnson KOed Rick DiPietro, would you still be upset? I wouldn't.

To me, that game represents dirty play. It was an all out brawl. I don't mind a couple of fights, but when you have one team completely going and fighting another, it shouldn't be something that should be celebrated, but that's just my opinion.

There were a few things I didn't like about the game, mainly Gillies acting like an ass after he elbowed Tangradi in the head and Matt Martin's attempted suckerpunch from behind on Max Talbot. But to me, it was still entertaining to watch. You just don't see games like that anymore in today's TV-Y7 NHL. Plus, it's for Isles fans, and beyond that, no one should really care.
