I hear their training camp dorms got a makeover to reflect the "kinder and gentler training camp" atmosphere as well....

Probably have that paper in their play books with the traffic lights on it to instruct when to start and stop writing.

Rookies did purchase some meals for veterans during the team's stay in San Antonio, but the prices certainly didn't approach the $54,896 bill Bryant paid with the help of other rookies at a Dallas steakhouse last season. As with many teams, Cowboys rookies traditionally sing their alma mater's fight song in front of the team. Garrett declined to get into specifics about which traditions would continue. "There are some things we won't do," Garrett said. "There are some other things that will still probably be in place. The more harmless things will still be in place."
Sounds like a more common sense approach if you ask me. Making someone pay half of a hundred-thousand dollars for a meal is absolutely ridiculous. Even if they did sign a massive contract.

Oh wow. Yeah I guess shaving rookies heads, and making them carry the vets pads around is just soooo harsh on their young minds....

I personally am against hazing and I think it should be stopped on all levels of play in all sports.

Hazing that has no lasting effects physically are fine IMO.

To me it is a right of passage. This is just another way to weaken the NFL. Do you realize the respect rookies get if they "take it like a man"? That alone puts you in good with the vets. Now there is no real way to test a players "metal" if you will.

Just like in the movie "Dazed and Confused" ... you suck it up as a freshmen and reap the rewards as a senior. Obviously noone "likes" the hazing but again, you put in your time as a rookie and when you're a vet you can pass it along.

This is the new NFL where any physical distress is not allowed. Goodell wants the rookies to bake cookies.
