I remember predicting in another thread a few months ago that he'd be broke within 10 years and facing possession-with-intent-to-sell charges ... but he's really gone above and beyond the call of duty here. Is he actively trying for the biggest-fuckup-so-far record?

I have often thought that it would be a good idea for the league to employ a financial advisory to at least meet with these guys after signing a contract. I know these are grown men that should be able to count, but hell, I have a financial advisory and I don't make shit compared to these guys.
But still, they would have to listen, and I think a lot of these guys don't only get dollar signs stuck in there eyes, but their ears as well.

The league does have financial advisors. I saw an article on it last week.
He tells all the incoming players "You can live like a king for a little while or you can live like a prince forever". The good news is with all these high-profile players going broke, a much higher percentage of rookies are listening to the finance guys now.
Well I guess that bring us to my last point. Some people are just to dumb to listen, and there is nothing anyone can do about that.

I remember seeing a special on ESPN or NFL Network a few years back on the rookies and what they needed to expect, Rookie Symposium I believe it's called and they were all in a room with a financial expert and past and previous players as guest speakers who would explain to them about being aware of the types of people that were gonna try to be in their lives and how they should go about using their money wisely so that this would not happen.

Some people should take a lesson from Carson Palmer.....he's got $80 Mill in the bank and is ready to walk away from the game.
But soooo many players just want a bunch of homes, cars, and jewels. They don't think about the future. And I personally, have no sympathy for a single one of them whatsoever.
