I don't think they need to realign anything. And here's why. First the NFL got too big for it's britches and expanded from 28 to 32 teams. Then they all spoke of having parity between teams, but what they have now, because of their greedy hands, is parody. Second, if you go to realign the playoffs, then what good is it to win your division? Finally, if we continue down this road of fixing shite every time it looks bad (such as having a 7-9 team in the playoffs), then the NFL will never have a solid foundation again.
I guess it goes back to the wussification of the league, and everyone should be a winner. I feel bad for the bucs, but they didn't do enough to win their division, and while they had a great season, it's unfortunate that the team is sitting home and the joke that is the NFC West Champions is playing but it is part of reaping what you sow...and I want to watch the NFL have to sow this upcoming game in Seattle. This should be nothing more than a scrimmage for the Saints, then we can get down to real football.
