Steelers offensive linemen banged up again

    By Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
    Monday, November 22, 2010

The Steelers came out of their 35-3 win over the Raiders in relatively good health.

The game did take its toll on the unit that has been hit hardest with injuries this season.

Center Maurkice Pouncey (knee contusion), left guard Chris Kemoeatu (cramps) and left tackle Jonathan Scott (ankle) all missed part of yesterday's game because of injuries.

The good news for the Steelers is none of the injuries appears to be serious, and Pouncey said it is unlikely he will need an MRI to assess any damage to his left knee.............

Thank god on the Pouncey situation. This OL is struggling already and losing him for any amounts of game would be a disaster.

Most definitely. We need Pouncey desperately and so does Ben. It would be almost catastrophic to lose him to injury.

I'm happy to hear that none of the injuries are serious.

You know someone mentioned on another thread that Trai Essexx is a better left tackle than he is a guard, I might have dismissed his opinion with my usual ironic wit,

truth be told, once Trai went in for Scott, the left tackle position looked whole lot more stable. Good call, whoever that was.

I actually do think he is a better LT than he is a guard. Remember a few years ago he was the choice over Starks for a game because the coaches thought he would be better at handling speed rushers. I'm not saying he is better than Starks now, but compared to Scott ...........?

He looked pretty good yesterday after he came in, I certainly wont be upset if he's named this week's starter.

Yep, but if they make a change I hope we make it this week. Barring more injuries, we need to get the same five guys, playing in the same five positions week in and week out.

I was wondering why Pouncey went out of the game for good in the middle of the 3rd. Good to hear it is nothing serious.

Been saying that for years. I was actually hoping they didnt franchise Starks a few years back and instead relied on Essex to play LT, Colon to play RT, then draft a rookie LT and pickup a serviceable backup like John St Clair. Could have saved millions and either traded up to get Michael Oher in the 1st, or trade down and get Phil Loadholt or William Beatty in the 2nd.

Of course, Scott was brought in by the new line coach, so we will see.
