Hall of Fame manager Sparky Anderson died today from complications from dementia. He was 76 years old. He guided the Big Red Machine to 2 World Series titles in 1975 and 76 and also a title with the Detroit Tigers in 1984 . Rest in Peace

I am very saddened to hear of Sparky's passing. Having been a lifelong Pirates fan (yes - even when they've totally sucked ) I remember the days of the Big Red Machine (Perez, Bench, Charlie Hustle) very well and how much I dreaded the Pirates playing the Reds during that era as they were such a force to be reckoned with. Rest In Peace Mr. Anderson.
