Just trying to call it as I see it. Pretending there is no potential downside to the Rodgers move is just putting blinders on IMO.
It is certainly going to be interesting. Arthur Smith's offense will finally have a player they can open up his entire playbook with. If Rodgers can stay healthy and the OL does come together, we will likely see some aspects of the offense that have been missing to this point.
The last several drafts have been strong. There are some really good players that are likely to take a major step in their development, while some talented rookies will get a chance to show what they are capable of. I am always excited to see that growth and development and try to figure out the ceiling of these young players. I love seeing young players improve and take major steps forward. It gives a glimpse of what can be when they fully invest in a talented quarterback that can get in the system, master it, and then thrive for 12-15 years to give them a shot at being great over an extended period of time.
It's what everyone wants, but can they pull it off in the very near future? We know it is difficult to find the next great quarterback, which is why we want them to go all in on finding that guy right now and stop with the 40-year-old band aids.
