Absolutely. This roster needs more TEs.
Also...at what point do we discuss what the drawbacks of the current TEs are that makesthe team constantly search for new ones?
Jonnu Smith is an Arthur Smith staple. It's inevitable.
Now. Pat Freiermuth has been nothing but a disappointment, but since the Steelers have already given him a new contract, that leaves Darnell Washington as the odd man out. You think with such a huge target he would be more a factor in the redzone, but they don't even know what to do with him.Also...at what point do we discuss what the drawbacks of the current TEs are that makesthe team constantly search for new ones?
Duplicate post.
Their 13 personnel was not good last year, so adding Smith would be hoping to fix that. Smith is a good YAC player, something this offense lacks. Nothing wrong with adding play-makers regardless of position. #2 WR's aren't being moved right now, and likely cost higher than what Pittsburgh cares to trade for.
Is he a good blocker?
with this potential move it makes me wonder what team has a wr2 they are willing to deal because they need a TE ?
we surely are not gonna run 3 TE sets with 1 wr are we ???
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
Yes. Also, with 2WRs and empty backfield. Also, with zero WRs and 2RBs. If we can run the same personnel with multiple formations and multiple plays from each formation, we can become less predictable on offense.
Jonnu Smith can line up out wide as WR2. In the backfield as the HB/FB. And inline as a slot receiver or a blocker. He has played 5 seasons in Smith's offense. He's also 30yrs old, not sure how that applies to TEs.
edit/ We added Parham to the TE room already. 4TE sets!!!!
TE are especially valuable if the QB cannot throw accurately more than 20 yards.
All Defense!
