I am sure the Steelers really want him to make the team, but he is going to have a hard time making the team at inside linebacker. Difficult to see him as a top 4 linebacker on this team. Only chance seems to be to ball out on special teams.

Did he play any other position in college?

Unless he has an uncanny knack for making tackles and a great work ethic, I can't see him being anything other than a special teams' guy. However, the Steelers ILBs aren't really lighting it up. Queen didn't live up to the hype. We will have to see how Wilson does in his 2nd year. IMO, he did well in his rookie season.

I think it’s worth a draft pick to grab a special teams guy. If he excels in that and makes plays - he can actually have a decent career. If he takes Miles Kilebrew’s role and is cheaper then it’s a plus for us

Yeah, special teamer fighting to make the roster as a reserve LB. 7th round so what do we expect. He plays with an edge, so hopefully he brings something to special teams.

Oddly enough, I met Mark's father and 2 sons on a train in Seattle the day of a Steelers-Seahawks game some 8-10 years ago, but I dont think they were old enough to be Carson. Must have younger brother.

yeah read he had double digit special teams tackles a couple years in a row so he has a legit shot of hanging onto a roster spot if he can prove to be able to do those same sort of things at this level
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. 4 teams in 5 years and traded twice in one off season

Bruener, Sawyer, Matakevich, and Robinson. Could be the best kick and punt cover guys ever assembled.

Matakevich is a free agent. Robinsons days may be numbered.

    We still have killabrew though

The other factor here is we really don't know if Holcomb can still be anywhere near the player he used to be after a devastating injury. I hope he can and I am sure the team will give him every opportunity, given how much they have stuck with him so far. However, I think it is far from certain he will be on the opening day roster.

Yup, he was a run stopping thumper. $3million in Vegas though. Not sure the Steelers wanted to pay him that with Queen and Wilson being the 1-2 at ILB and Malik Harrison.

Highlight reel but looks like a pretty good zone defender.
