I havent been around much for a couple a days and decided to catch up on some of the forum posts today ....
I must say I no longer wonder whats happened to this place , its pretty clear ...
Yes I too have been a part of it in the past but as the bible tells us its easier to see the speck in your brothers eye when the plank is no longer in your own eye ...
this place is so damn toxic as of late .... everyone needs to take a deep breath and exhale slowly before there isnt anyone left to talk to here
- Dwins out for now as I have seen all I care to for one day
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
My hope is when this team wins its next playoff game (or two) there should be less fighting amongst ourselves and traffic picks back up.
It’s only toxic if any of us take anything said here seriously.
Since this place is basically not real; why would we?
Personally, I do my best to laugh at all of it. None of this is worth being serious about.
Exactly.
Dude appoints himself as the guy who is more than happy to snark other posters who he deems "to want or need it".
And we wonder why people choose to no longer want to post here.
Hah!
Isn’t the quoted bit part of an apology from like, what, 6 months I ago; I think?![]()
Check out the threads where I defended Mike Wallace or talked myself into Trey Lance as a draft prospect. I’ve got a long and embarrassing string of comments out there. Have a blast!
If we can’t laugh at ourselves, who can we laugh at?
Personally, I recommend gunpowder and cocaine. Really helps take the edge off of life. Picked up when I was a child soldier. Now, I prefer to wear vintage lingerie while imbibing - but that’s an individual choice!
I hear ya. Landry Jones was a 4th round pick and at the time the all time leading passer in yardage I recall, from Oklahoma. Seemed like good value for a QB with good size, production, etc. Now we all know that he only turned out to be a backup and had some productive games, but it was worth the shot of a 4th round pick.
Howard with a 6th round reminds me of a similar situation. I would objectively say that Jones had a stronger arm than Howard, but maybe the attitude, knowledge of passing concepts, decision making etc have more upside. If the worst thing we get is a #2 QB with a 6th round selection that is great. If he is a kind of guy that comes in and is a Mike Tomczak, Bubby Brister short term starter that is cool too. and if he washes out then not a big deal.

We wont know until camp starts, but I somehow think Howard will also see some field. This might be one of those years like when Ben's elbow injury got Rudolph and Duck Dynasty on the field. We all forgetting Skylar Thompson too![]()

I think the fact that is it May and real football is still 4 months away has a lot more to do with it. Plus the little Moj/Haw mini fight was entertaining. A good dust up keeps things fresh.
Hawaiiansteeler, you should hear what Mojouw is saying about you behind your back! [Note: this was all made up by me strictly for entertainment purposes]
Still don't get it do you?
I don't take any of this seriously. That is the difference. You seem to. I do not care what insults are lobbed my way.
This all started because I was attempting to explain an argument that is floating around the internet message boards, podcasts, and YouTube regarding Will Howard. Then, it was a position that was ascribed to me. It is not, in fact, a thing I believe. I do not believe that Will Howard will be a mediocre NFL back-up because he played with oodles of superior talent at OSU and the team simply overwhelmed undermatched opponents (the argument I was attempting to summarize). I believe that Will Howard will fail to produce as an NFL starter because he simply is not talented enough. He lacks the requisite physical athletic traits required and he does not seem to read out defenses at the lightening speed needed to overcome his deficits.
Here is a list of recent Steelers QBs I have been proven to be correct about:
Duck Hodges
Mason Rudolph
Mitch Trubisky
Kenny Pickett
Russell Wilson
I was wrong on Justin Fields.
Will I be right about Will Howard? No idea. Not a clue. Couldn't be less clear. The fun bit is that we get to argue about it here and then see what we see on Sundays.

Both of your points about value are, for me, why it ultimately doesn't concern me whether Howard ends up being good or not in the NFL. Either way, it was the proper "value" strategy at that point in the draft.
Thompson beat out Howard early in Howard's time at KState. Can history repeat itself in the NFL?
Ok. You clearly want to get into. So, let's get into it.
Some months back, I can not remember how long, you and others got into a dust-up on some thread or another. I posted in a non-quoted post that many posters were acting fragile/snowflakey/taking themselves too seriously. By far, not the first time I have done so, as I have long argued that we all (myself included) can fall into the trap of taking the internet just a bit too seriously.
If it was a quoted post, that was a mistake on my part. Regardless of that point, you took it incredibly seriously/personally and called me an "asshole" several times and claimed to be leaving here forever. I responded that you would be back in a handful of weeks, as this is was/is your pattern - get into an argument with someone over a perceived insult, call them names, and then conduct a self-imposed exile until whenever you see fit to return. Upon reflection, that post on my part was uncalled for. If you want to take breaks for whatever the reason, that is your decision and I shouldn't have given you crap over it.
Anyway, on your return, you are attempting to take my previous comments that you felt were directed too pointedly at you and lob them back my way. Again, due to my predilections for dangerous narcotics and vintage lace; I am unconcerned. I just felt we might want to recap it. Or at least that is what I think happened....could be wrong....I like to do the brown-brown and post.
While I am no saint and far from without my sins and transgressions, I typically do not care what insults are directed my way. Look the VAST majority if threads, I am rarely the first one insulted. What I do tend to get all prickly about is when someone totally mischaracterizes the point of a post. For instance, the inciting incident here was that someone, and I actually forget who, seemed (again, at least to me) claim that I was making an argument with moving goalposts. Which I did get (far too) pissy about, because it wasn't my argument but an attempt to discuss one that is real popular on the interwebs. In this case, I took myself and the discussion far too seriously - likely because I have been out of my sweet, sweet, coping mechanism.
Ok? Do you want to carry on with this thing? Again....once my latest shipment of premium gunpowder comes in, I'm good...you would think that the gunpowder would be easier to get than the coke and lingerie, but, nope, it is actually the most complicated.
Honestly, I respect everyone's faith and willingness to commit to their religion. The next question then becomes which denomination of faith? Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, L. Ron Hubbard, etc? But I didnt really log onto a Steelers forum to ponder those kinds of questions.
Honestly, I think the more that politics and religion find their way into the football chat of a fan forum, the less traffic there will be in these pages. I'm just going to keep this about football.
I am going to side with Steve Smith Sr. on this one. He said something on NFL Network like "Mason Rudolph and Skyler Thompson, we know who they are and what they can do, so they arent really Quarterbacks in this equation. Howard and whoever else they bring into camp like Rodgers are the guys to watch, because we know the other 2 arent really starters."
Again, I know the Steelers are not winning the Super Bowl this season, so if they have to suck really bad to maybe get a shot at a future starting QB in the 2026 draft, I am all for it. I've seen too much Kent Graham, Mike Tomczak, Cliff Stoudt to know that Steeler fans have been fortunate with Bradshaw and Ben.
I like to think that Mason Rudolph will be enough for the short-term and maybe even longer. I think they may feel confident with him and that may be why they are only passively pursuing Rodgers. They know what Rudolph is capable of doing for them. If they weren't, I am sure one of the 100s of other scenarios involving the Steelers and prospective QBs would have played out by now. I just saw one from mid-January suggesting the Steelers trade GP, TJ and two 1st rounders to move up to take Shedeur Sanders....... some people are just nuts.
Anyway, the team responded really well to Rudolph at the end of 2023. George Pickens likes him, and so does everyone else on the team.
I think it can work.
I question the “not really starters” thing. I don’t disagree with the evaluation but I do think it is possible the Steelers simply don’t care.
Look at their recent track record. I think the Steelers figure they can start Rudolph, Thompson, or a lucky fan and grind out 7 wins. Add some splash from elsewhere and you steal the other two wins.
I just don’t think they feel a need to do much at QB. Unlike fans and commentators, the team has resigned themselves to their fate. It is Rudolph until some vet or rookie beats him out. That could be an old and disinterested Rodgers showing up in August or a rookie forcing their way into the field like when Wilson beat out whoever Seattle had planned.
Honestly. I’ll just be happy if they quite trying to fix the issue with spackle and sawdust. I’ve got no problem if the QB play is comically bad in 2025.
Gruden believes the Steelers got a steal in Will Howard. Let's hope it's so!
