What is more important to you having a team with players that you respect or a team that gives you the best chance to get close to a SB and maybe win one ?

We will never sniff a SB again but guess all good we love and respect our Steeler players.
Pickens traded.. lol
They have to be looking to sign another receiver

Same place they were last year...
That's why today's trade was a head scratcher. Yes I know GP was a head case but he also was a stud. Covering both him and Metcalf would have brought nightmares to defensive coordinators. Again there has to be something internal that we all don't know about or just more shitty coaching by Coach .501 that allowed GP to get to where he is.
if a player undermines your ability to coach and lead other players then he has to go. If Tomlin kept on giving Pickens chances and starts while he whines and pouts and emotes and takes plays off and is late to practice - it makes Tomlin look like the fool. Pickens may be the Shedeur Sanders of WRs
From Tim Benz at TribLive today

“Pickens would’ve held out, held in, or arrived at practices as a general nightmare and malcontent the entire summer. That would’ve lasted until he pouted his way into an extension or was dealt before the mid-season trade deadline”
And for all those who wished we had drafted a WR in this draft - then we would have had much less leverage and no way would we have gotten a 3rd

1 is acknowledgement, 2 is a witness, and 3 is a trend.
I also remember many sports' figures, networks, sites etc... saying Kordell was a great a QB when he played.
Tomlin was along for the ride. The Steelers won in spite of him.
So why do so many fans want him gone if he is so highly ranked? Tomlin is the same HC as he was on day one. As each Cowher player left, the team weakened and its identity faded.

Could we move on from Mike Tomlin as HC and improve as a team? I'm sure we could but it won't be easy.
Could we move on from Mike Tomlin as HC and improve as a team right now? No. I don't believe that is possible.
Tomlin is here for the 2025 season. Go Steelers!
You're saying some sites/people are saying Tomlin is a top 15 all-time coach. Many of those same sites etc... said Kordell was great when he was on the Steelers, even though it was painfully obvious he was atrocious as QB.
I just have trouble seeing what others see in Tomlin as HC.
Because Tomlin is an empty vessel. You can put nearly anyone in there and the results would pretty much be the same. He is void, IMO. Of course players play a role in wins and losses. It's not always on Tomlin. When I watch the Steelers it looks like schoolyard football. I see no identity, no cohesion. I don't know when the last time I went into a game confident the Steelers would win.

Yet for the past decade, going .500 is the only expectation.
And if they make the playoffs one and done is expected.
Losing a couple games every year to teams they should beat.
The same old tired wore out game plan every week.
Showing up to a game unprepared and/or flat out getting out coached.
Just to name a few is all expected.
Sometimes a change is needed to get where we want.

I think you may have misunderstood my post.
From your post it appeared to infer that you feel that the organization needs to move on from Mike Tomlin. And then you closed your post with:
My reply was to point out that the team is, in fact, changing. It just isn't going to be away from Mike Tomlin. They are not going to let one of the best coaches in the sport today walk away just because some of the fans are unhappy.

I get it.
Sometimes it just takes a different perspective to be able to see things a little bit differently.
I think they have a vision of what they want this team to be, and no matter how much fans complain and talking heads say they "know better" the franchise is not going to stray away from that vision.
