    Things the Steelers Will Regret...

    • Drafting a QB in the first round. None of the available QBs have first round worthy tools. We have seen what happens when you install a QB without high end traits in a mediocre to bad offense.
    • Trading George Pickens. He's a knucklehead. He's gonna cost too much. Blah, blah, blah. Teams with only one WR are consistently looking for another one. Teams around the league are building offense around 2 highly talented WRs (Eagles, Bengals, Vikings, Dolphins, Rams (until recently) and other teams are constantly searching for one or more WRs while their offense stagnates against good defense. Also, Metcalf is not really a do it all X WR. Pickens talent is worth both the cash and the headache.
    • Taking a RB in round 1.

I am sure there are others, but these are mine.

As long as we keep treading water and grasping for old past their prime quarterbacks we'll never know.

Not having a second pick hurts the steelers. I say spin the wheel for a Qb who knows we may end up a winner, or we may go home broke.

agree with each of your comments. Only wildcard is Pickens. He may do an Antonio Brown on us and we may have to get rid of him for his non-football antics

Put a clause in his contract or whatever. When his ego gets bigger than his production; cut him.

I really hope all the hand wringing about Pickens is media pearl clutching nonsense.

If they trade him; they’re just going to end up spending a draft pick 2-3 rounds higher trying to replace him. That’s bad business.

reports are he just unfollowed the Steelers on Instagram .... last year of contract .... proven unreliable to show up on time .... he has been a headache and all things considered I believe we havent seen the worst of it yet ...

its a double edge sword IMO ... a no win situation ... you either pay him and reward bad behavior or you don't pay him and get a larger dose as well as be back in the same situation as last year with 1 starter quality guy and a bunch of unknowns ... there is no "good outcome" here for the franchise ...

I love GPs ability to play WR , but the kid is a massive knucklehead and I am not sure how you pay him 30 million+ a year without seeing some maturity improvement and currently it seems to be going the opposite direction ...

If I am the steelers I am listening to offers .... I am not "Putting him on the block" but if an offer is floated past me that makes sense (not having to dish out 30 million a year, getting rid of a headache but give me the draft capital to replace his talent or at least come close ..then I have to strongly consider it .... that being said I wouldn't give him away either because he is worth a 3rd round comp if we let him walk thus I need more than that to even fathom him playing elsewhere ... much more ... anything less than a high 2 I think is where I quit listening ... a mid 2 and and something else useful and we may have something to talk about but I need to feel like I at least broke even here
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar

I think most of it is. Beat writers will say anything for a click these days because that is how they get paid. I think most 'insiders' are the journalists themselves unless a specific name is given.

Trading GP away just puts them right back where they were before last seasons started, but in an even worse position for this season, IMO.

I hear you. But, this is just my POV, I think all that stuff is over-blown talk radio/tv pundit chatter. I do not believe that it matters that much inside NFL locker rooms and coaching staff offices as long as a dude produces. But I have no way of actually knowing any of that. I suspect, based on reporting after the fact, that AB was doing all those things and more, but no one cared because dude was out there dominating NFL defenses on a weekly basis. GP has AB level talent in my opinion. I would put up with a lot for that amount of talent.

Take the transaction portion of the trade. You have to get a 2nd rounder or higher (as you mentioned) and then use it to "replace" GP. Then in say about 3 years you have to pay that guy a phenomenal amount of money. And then draft Metcalf's replacement because Metcalf will be old. OR...you just pay GP now and have the duo you want. Who cares if both WRs cost buckets of money. This team will not need to pay OL, RB, and QB for 3+ years. So pay your WRs and TEs lavishly...it is the ONLY difference makers you have on an entire side of the football.

This would be different if the team was staring down a big contract extension somewhere else on the offensive side of the ball. But they just aren't.

If they draft Sanders tonight I'm done with my lifelong Steelers obsession, he's definitely not the answer and we will have invited the Circus to town if he's here. Wouldn't be surprised if Mike hires his dad as a coach. I will be done,to the haters of this comment, I do not care.

And if he should start leading the team to deep playoff runs and actually win number 7, will you still be done with all things Steelers?
    I don't hate your post. I can't hate a post this impassioned.

We all know that's not happening lol If it does I will gladly come back on here and eat some crow but I definitely don't ever see me eating crow. That draft pick will severely set this team back and regress and Mike T can take Deion and his son with him somewhere else cause it will be the end of him in Pittsburgh, if not, the fans will be completely done with the Circus anyway.

People always predict that fans will be done with a team for this or that. Yet there will still be thousands of people at Latrobe just to watch practice not to mention at games, watching TV and buying merchandise. And as Born2Steel said, if they made a playoff run even many of those who did draw away from the team would be back. I'm sure many of the Saints fans who either participated or rooted for the fans who wore the paper bags were rooting and bragging about the Saints when they turned things around.

Had a friend who was an Iggles fan swear he was done watching the NFL. Then they went on a run and he was right back like he never left.

People who declare they will be done.. they just want attention. If you are really done, stfu and be done. Stop with the speeches and announcements and just git gone!

I've been a fan since 76 and been through the thick and thin, I figured some homers are absolutely gonna be happy even if they draft a girl to play lol but y'all don't realize the Circus that would be coming to town and then you will see the hate in here, I promise you. I'm a big boy, y'all can attack me all you want, they draft Sanders we will be set back for years.

Big difference between complaining (which is part of fandom) and stating you will no longer be a fan of a team because they make a decision you don't like.
