if you could sign him and it got the 7th Lombardi in the trophy case would you do it ?
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
Of course!

Isnt this similar to : "If you could buy a Coke and it had the winning lottery # on the bottom of the can, would you buy it?"
The only answer is yes.
The reality is that a 41 year old QB with diminishing skills likely isnt going to be the last missing piece to another Lombardi.
Based on what is left out there, I would take him over RW.

We do not care who is QB if it would magically guarantee a win, but the refs and owners can manage so much.
It would be a mistake to bring in Rogers. He won't fit in the woke Burg with his conservative attitude not to mention his limited patience. Rogers needs to retire before he embarrasses himself further.
Steelers are stuck in a position they tried to avoid. They need to take their lumps and draft a QB in the top of the 1st round. They should use this season to bring in OL and DL talent. Maybe let Boswell be the QB because he scored more points than anybody last season. If he does not want to be the QB then get Elon Musk!
All Defense!

I think ARod will be better than last season, he played better later in the season and I think he still wasn’t fully recovered from his Achilles injury. It seems to take more than a year before players are fully recovered from that injury.
Rodgers is greater than Russ. He has a quick release which Russ does not. It really comes down to the contract for me. I don't care so much how much they pay him because that does not affect drafting a young QB this year or next. What I care about is the length and potential dead cap space. Pay him 40 million a year I don't care, just make sure it is a two-year max contract with no out years to recover cap space beyond the two years.
As too the question at hand of course I would sign him in that case. Look, he is diva douche bag. However, some people act like he is felon or a child molester or something. I hated how he acted with the Jets, and I am not trying to defend him, but much of his behavior probably isn't outside of what many other players would do if they had the power. As for his time with the Packers, again not trying to defend him, but I don't blame him for being miffed at some of the Packer's decisions. They ignored refilling his weapons and, while drafting Love might have ultimately been a very smart move, you can't blame Rodgers for being upset about that they drafted his replacement instead of another reciever.
If Rodgers goes to Giants and Wilson goes to Tennessee then who would you want?
Winston? Flacco? Cousins?
I wouldn’t mind Winston as he still has a strong arm and I can see the ball being flung all over the place.
I just have this aching feeling we end up with nobody just like last year with WR , we put all our eggs in the Ayiuk basket and he used us ....
this years off season we had the entire off season to sign fields but we drug our feet and he found other interests and a bidding war we were never going to win commenced ...
now we supposedly made an offer to A-Rod and waited all day for an answer and he didnt give us one and we are still waiting it seems ???
gotta be pro active see what you want and go get it ...cant wait around these players are gonna do what is best for them so we got to do what is best for us .... waiting isnt it

I’m so numb to everything now. Rodgers Smodgers whatever. This season just is a bridge until we get a real QB
The thing I hate most about Cousins is he would cost a draft pick. From what I read he is due a 10-million-dollar bonus but that maybe that is all that is guaranteed for 2026. if I got that right. But please I don't want to trade away draft picks for a 37 year-old QB. If Aaron really wants too much and Giants are going all in, just make nice with Wilson. Give him 25 million guaranteed for one year and an option for another year (if that is possible). Draft his replacement in 2026 and we move on.
Rodgers was a elite QB at one time, Wilson was a above average one that won championships cause of his teams defense. It's a no brainer if those are the two choices and we seen how Russ didn't help us and don't need a replay next season.
What has Cousin's every done and so overrated in his prime even, same as Carr that some Steeler fans never watched much but want. No to both! Yes I know Carr can't be had now and thank the Good Lord for that.

Comes down to this roll the dice with Rodgers and draft a QB early and if that don't happen. Go with someone like Winston or Rudolph and draft a QB early. Use the extra money elsewhere to help the team.
If we have to bring Mason Rudolph back to be our starting QB, or Cousins or Winston, we better draft 2 QBs in this draft. Double our chances of striking gold. Because the other option sucks.
I don't even care if we sign Rodgers for $80-90 million as long as it is no more than 2 years. Then trade up and get a QB next year and let them learn for one year behind Rodgers in his final season.

Rodgers won't mentor anyone ever. Never has. Never will.
The longer this drags out, the more of self-involved jerk you all get to see that he is. He has been doing this his whole career....but it never mattered when he was reeling off MVP caliber seasons. Now that he is just kind of a guy....doesn't sit as well I suspect.
Assuming they sign him....this all goes pear shaped by like Week 5. Look what Rodgers did to Mike Williams last season. Even IF Williams ran the wrong route, Rodgers did him dirty. When he does that to Pickens or Metcalf...those cats are not going to take it as calmly as Mike Williams did. They are going be ready to fight someone. Brod Jones seems to be an emotional dude with his emotions impacting his on field performance. First time Rodgers gets walloped and starts jawing with Jones for letting it happen...how is that going to go?
When Rodgers had his last good season in GB, he pissed and moaned all season about their cadre of young WRs. They didn't know what to do...didn't play how he wanted...etc. Look at the WR room here. Metcalf and some inexperienced dudes. One of them (Wilson) apparently is too dumb to learn an offense and see the field for almost and entire season. None are "crafty" route runners. How long until he starts lobbying for new WRs?
And all of this could be ignored if Rodgers could still deliver the mail like he used to. But he doesn't make magic happen on the field anymore.
I dont like A-Rod , never have and we share similar politics so that isnt it , arrogance never sits well with me ...
I was for signing him because there basically was nothing else , now with him playing these games I am ready to move on ....
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
We also need to remember that he is still a member of the Jets. The earliest that a deal can be announced is 4 pm today.
Nothing can be announced until he is no longer a Jet.
When he is released, that's when this is really going to heat up, or maybe have a quick answer where he is going.
The chance to lead the Giants out of the gutter and into the playoffs would be huge. Rodgers would be the toast of New York.
the draw to Pittsburgh has always been our ownership and winning culture. I think we still have that although its been getting kind of tarnished lately.
I read he was being released yesterday (it said Tuesday in the piece I was reading) if today it makes more sense but even podcasts where sitting in wait (SI Noah Strackbine *spelling per example) so I assumed they were correct (maybe not) also read he isnt responding to the steelers of giants and is in his dark spot contemplating between those two teams and retirement ....
someone once said once you start to think about retirement you have already retired .....

You may be right. I heard it was today from a couple other sources.
Today at 4PM starts the new NFL year. I believe that's when he officially comes off the Jets' books. The Jets are allowing him to talk to teams as a courtesy, but it's not official until he's actually released.
Believe me, I have no idea what could possibly be rattling around in Rodgers' very large head.
I read the Jets will designate Rodgers as a post June 1st release. If that's true, we have 2 more months of this.

I totally see your logic and if it was almost anyone else aside from Rodgers, I would join you in making the argument. The only part of the vet bridge QB that has ever made a lick of sense to me is the mentorship thing with the young QB.
Rodgers refused to do it GB. He refused to mentor any of his teammates in NY. Part of the reason the offense struggled with multiple games with no TDs. He is a not a good leader or teammate. That's the bottom line. And I am not counting on a guy who built a HOF resume one way suddenly turning over a new leaf.
Rodgers may end up being the best on the field performer of ANY of the possible 2025 Steelers QB options. I can see that happening. But he will only be a leader as far as his on the field play keeps things calm. He's crap in the room as the hockey boys say.
