Off Season signings (FA and other)

Steelers signed TE Donald Parham. Huge TE with little skill as I can see by reading. He may end up just being a camp body. I do think Baby Cam should, and hopefully will be, upgraded, but not sure Parham is that guy. I see he caught 27 passes in six games in 2023 with Chargers. Stretched over a season that would be major production for a Steelers' TE not named Heath or Green.

    Tall receiver, good hands.....https://www.pro-football-reference.c...P/ParhDo00.htm

Probably zero risk signing. Adding competition to a non-productive room. If he makes the squad probabaly means the end of Pruitt/Heyward, or both.

Cool. A third TE. Was worried they’d not be able to find one.

If they want to get me excited about a new tight end, draft Tyler Warren. He is everything everybody wants in a TE. Size, speed, hands, tremendous blocker.

A back of the depth chart TE doesn't exactly do anything for me.

He's definitely a receiver. I don't know how effective he will be in the rush attack.

I think Pruitt is a FA anyways, isn't he? I'd be surprised if they brought him back regardless of this signing.

You never know. Maybe there will be competition for long snapper position. I hear this guy is pretty talented.

well I was pretty happy to hear they signed him ( or anyone for that matter) I at least know that the front office hadn't all suffocated in the building or something as I thought Fields would be signed by now .... but crickets ................

Davante Adams now free to sign anywhere. Do you want him?

I would rather have Slayton , but would welcome Adams or Kupp at the right price ....

what I do believe is we need 1 of those 3 as the #2

Pretty sure we need a QB before Adams will have any interest.

Getting Adams would be great. No team in the league would be worse for adding Adams to their roster.

If they can not get Adams, I think D Hopkins might be another FA to target. Even if he has lost a whole bunch of steps...he can be a veteran mentor for the idiot brigade that makes up the rest of the WR group. That might be far more important than anything he does on the field.

for those who think Adams is washed , he would have ranked #1 on the steelers in every meaningful receiving statistic in 2024 ... just sayin

REC. 85. 18th · YDS. 1,063. 18th · TD. 8 Not to mention he sat out a game or two for the Raiders. He is dirty and not washed at all.

not certain but think it was 3 games ...... let that stew for a moment along with the fact he had 2 different QBs with the raiders during his playtime there and neither was very good then a new system in NY with a 3rd QB granted a reunion but still it had been some years

The best thing is that Adams should age well. Sure he can run away from guys but he also can catch with dudes hanging all over him and he’s a master technician as well. Even if his physical gifts start to erode, the little things he does in his routes to get separation will still work.

Yep and you got a top 10 WR out there in FA in him if you factor that in.

Joey Bosa released ... Not a position we need but that dude could not stay healthy. I think they said he started 18 games over the past 3 seasons.

Alright so WR is off the to do list for Omar and the fellas.

Without a second round pick....this gets interesting. Hear me out....it seems to me that you have three choices with the first rounder....DL/CB/RB.

Seems to early to draft a RB. Rookie CBs are not always NFL ready. So....DL impacts the team on the shortest timeline the most.

Meaning....FA should see a "name" signing at RB and CB?

Dan Moore gets $50 mil guaranteed by Titans and 80 mil total / 4 yrs. Good for him. Worked hard and had good attitude and now he’s rewarded. Also I am glad the Steelers didn’t give him this contract or I would have blown a gasket

We may be drafting OT again this year.

Don't Jackson leaving for Chargers. That leaves us with a big hole at corner.

Hopefully the Darius Slay rumors are true.

Don't forget, they have last season's first round pick Fautanu coming back from missing all of last season. They couldn't pay Moore that much money.

I like the guy. I wish him well, but he didn't play well enough to pay huge money for 4-5 years. I'll take a chance on some youth and maybe a veteran free agent signing.

Just read Slay is 34. We just got 5 years older in that position, a position that usually requires youth and speed, hopefully he doesn't turn into another Patrick Peterson.
