Just thinking about Antwon Blake trying to cover gives me the shakes.

    Steelers re-sign Ben Skowronek.

OL was not that good anyway. Wilson had less than 2 seconds to get rid of the ball unless he rolled out.

the Pittsburgh Steelers are officially bringing back CB James Pierre on a one-year deal in 2025
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar

That's not true. Not even close.

Here is a link that gives advanced quarterback stats. https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/advanced-stats-qb.php

Look at the headers under "Pressure". Then look at the sub category directly under that listed as "PKT Time". Click on "PKT Time" and it will list all the quarterbacks in order of time in the pocket.

The quarterback that had the most time in the NFL between the snap and the throw or pressure was Jalen Hurts at 2.7 seconds.

Justin Fields tied for 3rd most time in the pocket at 2.5 seconds. Third most time in the NFL.

Russell Wilson tied for 13th most time in the pocket at 2.4 seconds. Tied for having the 13th most time in the NFL to throw the ball.

Both quarterbacks had above average time to throw the ball from the pocket. Russell Wilson holds the ball and takes a ton of sacks trying to make big plays. It's just who he is at this point. Russell Wilson isn't very good unless you single cover the outside receivers in man coverage. Other than that, he struggles to execute an offense. In fact, he refuses to run the offense the way it is designed with the built-in check downs and throws to the tight ends.

No fake punts thrown his way. He and Skowhatever are a good team tackling returners

Might be why zero members of the Steelers coaching staff wanted him back.

Of course they’ve decided to try the same thing hoping for different results. Should go super.

This team needs to get all the decrepit QB mummies out of the building and embrace having a young quarterback to develop. For the love of God....it's time.

Even if they sign Rodgers or Wilson......draft a quarterback in the first couple rounds and take a shot at solidifying a successful future. And then prepare him to play as soon as possible so they can actually see if the kid can play or not.

The worst part about this whole thing for me is not believing the team can be truly successful even a year or two down the road without drafting a QB or acquiring a good younger quarterback in a trade. Repeating the same mistake of signing old quarterbacks with no future over and over again only continues to add years to the wait. The band aid needs to be ripped off.

    Yup.

To their credit, they tried and failed once already.

I think they’re gonna keep their powder dry one more year and go for QB again next offseason season.
