    WR Room in 2025

    Interesting rankings here: https://steelersdepot.com/2025/02/fl...on-wr-options/

For me, and MojoUW alone, I would rather have Adams than Kupp or Deebo. I think the Niners and how they used him burned Deebo up and they know it. That is why they paid Aiyuk and are now shoving Samuel out the door.

Adams had a first couple years very similar to Pickens. Lot of unfulfilled promise mixed with eye popping moments. Then, Adams perfected his craft and became one of the best route runners in the entire league. He can still create separation against glue. I would be super excited to see him sign a couple of year deal and serve as not only an on-field contributor but a mentor for Pickens, CA3 and Wilson. Honestly, signing Adams is what I think is the best solution to the WR question...until someone shows me a better one. Then I will tout that one like an ADHD squirrel distracted by a shiny object.

Then I also add either Darius Slayton or Christian Kirk.

WR Room hits draft day looking like this:

    Davante Adams
    George Pickens
    Slayton or Kirk
    CA3
    Roman Wilson
    Skowronek

Means that in my role as Steelers GM, I wouldn't HAVE to draft a WR in 2025 if I didn't want to. I still might draft a couple, but I would feel less pressure to do it. Might allow me to get value or talent at other positions. Hopefully DL and CB?

Who is slinging the ball? I don't think Adams comes here without a QB that can feed him. He was burned by poor QB play in Vegas and NY.

I doubt he's interested in going down that road again.

Good points. I have no idea.

I figure dump trucks full of money usually solve those types of problems.

Adams already has a golf course and a Taco Bell in his house. What can we offer him?

Yeah, possibly. Adams would love to play for Tomlin, but I think his next contract will be with a serious Superbowl contender.

Oddly enough, there a multiple contenders that need an A1 receiver - Baltimore, KC, Buffalo, Green Bay, and the Niners..just off the top.

I'd love to see him in the Burgh, but think he signs with one of those teams.

Replace the Taco Bell with Primanti Bros?

Well per reports, the Steelers and Jags almost had a deal in place for Christian Kirk until he got hurt(collarbone) days before the deadline, and reports are he's a cut candidate, if so, I can see Kirk becoming a Steeler.

Adams seems interested in going back to the west coast. Maybe Chargers? but I would be interested in him for sure.

Tell him he will get a role in the next Batman movie.

I could get with that. Wouldn't be against drafting a WR at the top of the draft either. However, a true #2 WR aquired in FA, along with Pickens, Ca3 (who seems like an adequate #3), and we almost have a draft pick in Roman Wilson after his red-shirt year. Would permit us to take care of cb and d'line. And the days of great running backs dropping in the 4th or 5th round are over for now.

I keep hoping I hallucinated they resigned him.

He better be one heckuva veteran mentor for the youngsters.

He will teach them the intricacies of the inactive list. He is also president of the short white receiver dud club with Ryan Switzer and Gunnar O, your other favorites.

As a short white guy myself, I’m glad they’re included I guess?

It will be interesting to see if the Steelers take a WR sometime in this draft. A player that would make a lot of sense to pickup is Keandre Lambert-Smith from Auburn.

He doesn't have a full route tree, so he needs some development with route running. What he does have is size, speed, excellent ball tracking ability with good hands. He's 6' 1" 190 lbs with 4.37 speed.

This would be the type of pick that would make you think they could be looking for a Geoge Pickens replacement to take over as a deep threat on the outside. If he works out, then they would be able to move Pickens for draft capital.

I just don't know if they have enough picks to stray too far from the more pressing needs.

I think there’s a kid from TCU I think that’s kind of a Cordsrelle Patterson knock off.

Savion Williams. He was just drafted by the Packers.

The Packers are going to have 15 wide receivers on their roster!

If the Steelers sign Adams, I would not be shocked if Rodgers signed a 1-2 year deal either.

Then draft a QB next year and let them spend their rookie year watching Rodgers play his last.

Likely be a two-year contract if for no other reason than to spread out cap hit.
