This is a lie. These QB’s were great when they got them. What made them great is their mental fortitude. When Brady played after Bledsoe was injured some players were out at dinner with Brady and kept implying how Bledsoe was going to get his job back and Brady says “he’s not getting his fucking job back!” and players realized they had a QB who was different.
You really think guys like Brady and Mahommes were average and one year of sitting turned them into the best QB’s of their generation? That isn’t how this works.
If this was the case Reid and Billicheat would have turned every QB into something special. Why didn’t Reid turn McNabb and Smith into great QB’s? Why didn’t Billicheat turn Mac Jones into a great QB? Bledsoe? Cassell?
Why didn’t Noll turn Mark Malone or Cliff Stoudt into great QB’s??
There’s a similar story of like the first minicamp practice session or some such and Brady seeks out the owner to congratulate him on drafting the best QB.
Looking back on it one of the most ridiculous things of all time is that he alternated series at Michigan with some guy who never was because that guy was taller.
If Brady and Mahomes were so great when the Patriots and the Chiefs first got them, why did these "great" QB's spend their first year on the bench? And I know from first-hand experience watching him that Bradshaw was far from "great" his first few years with the Steelers.
As far as why Belichick, Reid, and Noll didn't turn those other guys into great QB's too, the answer is easy. Those other guys didn't have the talent in the first place to become great QB's, regardless of the coaching. A QB needs TWO things to become great: (1) talent, and (2) a coach who knows how to develop and use him. If EITHER of those things is missing, the QB will not become great.

I'm ok with Smith for another season. What I would've liked to see was them getting a new DC I thought Austin sucked last year but who know's how much authority Big Mike gave him over the defense.

You haven't proven anything. Art might legitimately think (rightly or wrongly) that he can win with the coaches he has and that other things need to be fixed to win a championship. You are trying to pretend you can read Art's mind, and I don't believe you can do that.
