Mic Drop!

I don't think it's the money. I think Rooney has gotten addicted to the praise he and the organization gets for not firing head coaches and keeping them around for a long time. This praise has become more important to him than actually contending for and winning championships.

That sums it up although I think he is operating somewhat like a low rent landlord. Dan Rooney found other ways to maintain profitability, specifically by limiting the number of seats at Three Rivers so that during poor economic times the team would not have a problem selling out. Not selling out a home game had a lot more effect on broadcasting back in the day compared to today not to mention the need for expensive sky boxes today.

You probably would have said the same thing about Dan and Art SR when they kept Noll around for twelve years with only four appearances in the playoffs and only two wins, with four losing seasons, one of them bad. Should have gotten rid of ownership right then and I’m sure we could still be stuck on four rings.

This is getting increasingly silly.
There are legitimate concerns, questions, and complaints about the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ownership is not one of them.

This is the same poster that complained about a post being 3 paragraphs long and that he couldn't read it...

Art Jr is one of the vice presidents of the team as well as a former scout.
Not sure the point of this thread.

Maybe we can get some solid ownership based off season rumors?
I think there was one awhile back that the minority owners were going to force Rooney to fire everyone.
I heard that theyre going to sell to the Saudis and move the team to Riyadh.

Noll is different. The Steelers owed him because he was so great, the best coach in Steelers history and top 5 of all time.
They ran Don Shula out of Miami and it turns out he was the same thing and the same class act as Noll. The 1970s were absolutely the best decade to watch the NFL. It's been all downhill since.
Notwithstanding, it would probably be best for a fresh start. The Rooney's will probably let Tomlin's contract run out and Mike could take a season off then go into broadcasting. I think Tomlin likes being on camera more than coaching at this point.
All Defense!

There's a difference between not caring about winning and caring about winning but being unsuccessful at it. Prove that Rooney doesn't care about winning. And don't say "because Tomlin sucks as a coach and Rooney keeps bringing him back." Rooney might honestly think he can win with Tomlin.

Welp you heard the Rooney's speak and just reinforces my analogy.

You are comparing a NFL owner with a pretty decent personal reputation, who has admittedly failed to move his team forward in his tenure, to a landlord that would potentially leave children without necessities like electric, clean water, or a pest free environment. I'm not trying to take a personal shot at you, but I think it's a terrible analogy.
