What will it take to fire Tomlin

Seriously, how many more .501 seasons?

How many more Groundhog's Day do we need? At least in that movie Bill Murray was progressing.

This team is stuck in a rut and just doing the same thing over and over...

Blow this thing up. Trade TJ and anything for draft capital and rebuild this team. Hell, trade Tomlin if that will bring you picks. I'll take some losing seasons if that's what it takes.

I’d trade Tomlin for two first round picks and Breece Hall to the Jets. I’d even go a second instead of a first. Then I’d immediately hire Vrabel or I’d throw the dice on Ben Johnson.l at the same time, I’d have someone in the phone with Mike Munchak for either him or a conversation leading to who he would recommend as an O-Line coach. All would be done by Friday.

They won't fire him next year. I think most agree here he won't be fired. I do believe that Art will copy what his father did the year before Noll was fired. Noll was told he had to fire nearly the whole staff (Tony Dungy even got the axe). I think there is a good chance that Smith is the only assistant coach not fired this off season. I personally think he deserves another year with a QB that can run his offense, but I understand the reasons some want him one and done.

if I was running the team , I would put him on the trade market to get out of the contract and try and get some draft capital for him ...I mean all the Tomlin defenders say he would be out of work for a whole 5 min if we fired him so lets give teams a chance to trade for him and see if there are ANY takers ...

5 consecutive losses to finish the season is enough for me to say goodbye
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar

    Welcome, guys.

Looks like some of the Good Ol' Boys are finally realizing that I actually WAS the "voice of reason".

except the simple fact that you have nothing to do with it , me and 86Ward do not even speak on here but both of us have been plenty vocal about Tomlin when it was justified ...I am certain I have called for his head many times and suspect he has too ...

you give yourself far to much credit for something that has nothing to do with you or your point of view , and you thinking of yourself as the voice of reason sounds like a mental disorder to the rest of us

I'm the guy who's been bashed for "hating" Tomlin since I got here. Now that I've been proven right, the guys who have been bashing me are suddenly saying "Oh, we knew it all the time".

Yeah . It would be nice to see them being scrappy and just losing to a better team, but the blowouts speak volumes about the quality of the roster and coaches

I heard this said many times of the Rooneys between Super Bowls 14 and 40. Then 40 and 43 happened.

I think they’ll want him to get rid of Austin, and he’ll probably oblige in order to stay in Pittsburgh. I’ll be surprised if they let him go or trade him. If its more of the same for the remainder f his contract, they’ll let him finish it out but wont renew.

That is a tough question. The simple answer is no - he is not his father. I would argue that Dan Rooney is the best owner in American team sports history. That's a bold statement, but he built and presided over the dynasty and then rebuilt the team and gave us a second act. Art II will never live up to that standard. Whether he can build and preside over a championship team the jury is still out. It has to be noted that it was not ART II who fought for Tomlin to be the head coach, but Dan. Fans can believe what they want, but it seems very unlikely to me that if Dan was still in charge that he would fire Tomlin.

I will just try and stay positive. Cowher eventually broke his AFC Championship drought. The Eagles last year fell apart at the end of the season and have clawed back this year. IMO, Tomlin is a better coach than Nick Sirianni, even with his faults. The medicine to fix problems is take one big dose of a franchise QB, even if you have to search the entire planet to find him.

That’s always the cure. They just don’t grow on trees and really there’s less than a handful in the NFL.

Dan was a true football guy. Art is a lawyer who inherited a football team.

It’s still there. He’s the greatest coach the Steelers ever had.

You know it…or maybe you don’t. There’s not much you do know. There’s no helping those with racist thoughts…but that’s an individuals own opinion.
