I just can't believe there would be a competition to employ McCarthy.

Remember when he said he spent a year watching tape every day to update and innovate his offense with a bunch of other former NFL coaches? Then the Cowboys hired him citing that and he came out and said that was all a lie and he never did that? And then he proceeded to run the same offense he has ran since like forever.

That is the guy that these two franchises are going to get in a tussle over?

Mayo is getting pretty much labelled as not ready.

Hire him as whatever nonsense title the team wants. He injects another POV on the defense. He's versed in other flavors of the 3-4.

Gets a bump from learning from Tomlin for his resume.
