    It's Ravens Week!!!!

The Pittsburgh Possums have been playing dead at home and getting killed on the road. Now it's playoffs time! Time for the real Steelers to please stand up.

The Ravens will be favored. Probably by 30.

Here We Go!!! I will never stop being an optimist.

No doubt the Ravens are a better team than the Texans. That said. I am not sure beating the Ravens is a longer shot than beating the Texans. Either game is a longshot for us the way we have been playing. However, I suspect playing a divisional rival in the playoffs is a bit unsettling, particularly to the favorite. I give us a middle weight against a heavy weight punchers chance.

Everyone is saying the Steelers are lost and they stink. Nobody expects the Steelers to even compete against the mighty Ravens.

Does anyone really believe that the Ravens won't be clenching their collective sphincters knowing that they are facing the Steelers?

It might be our best matchup and their worst. This plays into Lamar's fears and the Ravens matchup problem with the Steelers.

It certainly doesn't look good, but I'm not prepared to throw in the towel. Let's see if Tomlin can rally the troops to handle an old adversary that they know inside out. All the pressure is on the Ravens and they know it.

If they can keep forcing the fumbles, they are going to start recovering them again at some point. I think the Ravens are very much worried about this matchup.

This is Mike Tomlin's SB and what he been waiting for all year to win a playoff game, Being the Ravens is icing on the cake for him. I can see a Steelers win but they lose no matter who they play the following week. I think it will be a Bills vs Chiefs AFC champ game.

Ravens-Steelers ended 18–16. 0 TD’s by Pittsburgh. Failed 2 pt. conversion sealed the Steelers W after two missed FG’s by Tucker. Steelers-Ravens ended 34–17. Tucker missed two field goals that he normally makes. Yeah, shit happens, but had Tucker made what (for him) were essentially no-brainer kicks, the Ravens would have won both games in 2023.

Right now, Pittsburgh is reeling. 0-4 in their last four games. A two-game lead in the AFCN evaporated. Anything is possible. But I don’t think the Steelers offense can keep up with the Ravens offense.

I don't think The Steelers can keep up with a Matt Canada coached offense.

In the second matchup, the Ravens put the ball on the ground 3-4 times and recovered all of them. That won't happen again if they don't hang onto the ball.

    You know this.

I don’t know that, and neither do you. The first game the fumbles went the Steelers way. The second they went the Ravens way. No one can predict that.

What can be reasonably assumed is that the Steelers run game is ok, but not on par with Henry and Lamar. Wilson is nowhere near as good as Lamar in passing (forget rushing). The Steelers defense is good, but last game, Henry rushed for 162 yards and had the defense gassed in the 4th quarter.

I’m rarely overconfident in these match-ups, but I am in this one. I think the Steelers will struggle to score and Henry will pound the defense.

Stop it there's no way they score above 56.

It all seriousness, after the Ravens won Saturday this outcome was pretty much a given ... why Tomlin didn't then treat the Bengals game as a bye is beyond me, but again just more shitty coaching by Coach .501.

Steelers will need two main things. Some of that crossroads devil magic. And to break tendencies on offense for big plays.

Instead of running out of a condensed look, it's gotta be a completed moon shot. Justin Fields comes in and hits a backside screen instead of running over the front side end. Whatever it may be. But they've got to take the Ravebs reads a d turn then inside out.

I agree. I actually expect a game like this past week where the Steelers have a chance to win right to the end. Unfortunately, I think they will once again find a way to blow that chance. However, if a ball or two finally bounces their way this week they could do it.

Steelers should come out passing rather than running. They should also put Fields in for most short-yardage situations, but for at least the first time Fields comes in he should throw a pass (not a long one, a short to medium one).

If they don't score in the first series they will be in trouble early. Ratbirds are peaking now and the Steelers won't be able to keep up.

Russ looks shell shocked right now. Fields should be warmed up ready to go in. And to be running a lot

They need to win the turnover battle but that doesn't guarantee anything as they have won that battle and lost the game several times.

Nobody knows what is going to happen when there is a fumble and the ball hits the ground. What we do know is that the Ravens have been fumbling and the Steelers have been forcing fumbles in this matchup. Will it continue? Who knows. All I am saying is that the Steelers have been forcing fumbles and they usually get a couple opportunities to intercept passes when they play against the Ravens. The Ravens recovering every fumble was a statistical anomaly and if they went the other way, so may have the game. If they put that many on the ground again, chances are they are they are going to turn into turnovers.

If a team keeps fumbling, eventually the other team is going to recover some of them. This is just common sense. If the Ravens continue to put it on the ground, it is going to come back to bite them.

I'm hoping that TJ Watt is as close to 100% as he has been in a month. If he is, then the Steelers defense you saw in the last matchup will be much more formidable and dangerous with a couple players back and healthier. I hope the team can also get Donte Jackson back at CB for this game. Seeing our secondary intact with a healthy Watt is something that nobody has seen for a month or so. I will like our chances a lot better in this game if this is the case.

Again, the pressure is on the Ravens and Lamar Jackson to beat an opponent that has given them fits for the last 5 years. It is LJ that will be feeling that heat. Not having Zay Flowers is also a big deal if he can't play. Flowers has been giving the Steelers trouble, so taking him out of the equation makes it a little easier to deal with Bateman and Andrews.

We just have to wait and see how it all plays out.

I think the Steelers can possibly take it. They are 8-2 against the Ravens the last 10 matchups.

Doesn't mean they will, just that they can.

All I know is how both teams played in the last month. If I was a gambler I would bet the farm on the Ravens to win and beat the spread whatever it is.

Offense is still gonna have to take advantage of those turnovers, 3 points off of 3 turnovers is not gonna cut it.

    It's why we're fans!

Try to keep the faith. I think this game is winnable if they can put together a good game plan and they are able to execute like they did earlier in the season. Russell Wilson is key in this game. Can he get away from his tendencies and make the Ravens pay? I think that is the question that may ultimately decide this game.

If Russ can get away from just looking to hit the long ball and check downs, they can completely take apart the defense the Ravens are rolling into this game with. If he can look to attacking the seams and the intermediate routes, they are going to pick up a bunch of first downs and maybe even score a couple touchdowns on those plays. At the very least, they are going to move the chains and allow the running game to be more effective.

If Russ continues to do what he has been doing, it plays right into the hands of the Ravens playing shell coverages with two deep safeties.

I'll be rooting like hell and hoping for the best!

Defense will need to show up…which they haven’t in weeks.

Minkah will have to make a play to make an impact.

The O-Line has to get push, which they haven’t and Russ will have to play smart and not take sacks.

Pickens will have to make two plays.

    Minimal turnover margin.

All that and the Steelers can close the gap to 38-6.

It isn't complicated. Use their previous tendencies and the keys the Ravens have developed from those against them. Basically the 2005 SB run gameplans - particularly the one against the Broncos.

Are they talented and disciplined enough on offense to pull it off? Maybe.
