What coach was at fault there? That is Wilson turning down a wide ass open WR at the sticks for a RB at the LOS.
Where are all these pass distribution charts that people liked to post last season and complain that Steelers Offense doesnt like to work the middle of the field. Or was that the first 5 games?

We got what we got from an aging QB on the downside of his career. I really want to see that O line compete and get physical, which I havent seen in a while. Similarly the Defensive front 7 doesnt play with the intensity it has in recent years.

Steelers are not a tough, physical team any longer. They just seem to play mediocre to soft, which is likely why the OP is feeling the way that he is about games.

For the run game, I think Smith is too stubborn. He calls his stuff and has not really adapted to whatever the strengths of his actual offensive lineman and RBs might be. I don't think that many of the Steelers lineman are well suited to zone running. Just line up and use their big size as a hammer. But what do I know?

I do not think the defense plays soft. I think they play hurt and tired from a recent spate of non-complementary football while they played 3 games in 11 days or whatever ridiculousness that was. And in all three of those games, the defense was on the field a crap ton.

But again, I am not in a position to really say. That is just one dude's opinion from his couch.

When we drafted Fautanu, the highlights they showed were of him pulling and blocking out in space and on the move. That may be why there was also talk of him moving to OG. We just need the IOL to play a more physical game than what we've seen. Could easily be the rookie wall as well. I guess we'll see in season 3.

I think the Fautanu talk of moving to guard was because he was only around 6'3-1/2 and didnt have prototype OT size. Kind of like Slater talk was when Chargers drafted him.

Film to me shows that Fautanu is more technically sound than Jones is and its why I think he might be the LT of the future and not Jones.

As for rookie wall, you could be onto something with that. I still think that Seumalo, Frazier, McCormick and even Jones could be better in the run game. Moore to me has improved, but isnt LT material and isnt a real physical guy in the run game that this offense needs to play like.

Absolutely. And the NFL is the only thing propping up all of television. Last year 97 of the top 100 watched things on any kind of TV (broadcast, cable, streaming) was NFL games. Nothing else comes close. If you are asking people to watch your TV thing (however you access it) and you do not have NFL content, you are not going to make money and gain viewers.

As a result, all these providers go to the NFL offering the moon and the stars. Kind of a lot to ask for the NFL to turn that down.

Personally, I think that the NFL are fools for not just taking this all in-house and making their own network for all the games but the next time I understand the economics of television will be the first time. It all seems wacky.

I am just glad that I don't have to pay cable fees to watch. I hate cable. I hate streaming less...considering I already have most of them.

    A note about expectations:

23 of 32 teams finished 10-7 or worse.
16 teams finished with 8 wins or less.
Only 9 teams had 11 or more wins.

Most of the NFL is losing. A lot. I am not sure people realize this.

Here's an example. I would've gladly watched the college playoff game tonight.

It's on ESPN. I don't think cable is worth it. No college game for me.

    It's all greedy and dumb.

Except for the rare ties, each NFL game has one winner and one loser. Therefore the total number of team losses (and wins) is equal to the number of NFL games played, which is the same every year (except of course for those years when an extra game is added to the schedule). So the amount of losing in the NFL is always the same, there is no additional losing going on. It's just a matter of how that losing is distributed.

Is that how that works? Really? Huh.

That was the oint of the post. The winning concentrated in a small percentage of the league. Most of the league does have or is within one gsmeof a losing recotd

I didn't finish my thought on Fautanu very well. IF...he was to move to OG, and due to his obvious athleticism shown in his draft highlights, we could have another John Hannah on our side. Possibly.

Problem being we would still need a LT.

Agree, I think there was talk among scouts and the draft pundits reported that because he lacked the frame for prototype OT, but you look at his film and he can play OT. Again, I think he is more technically sound than Jones and can play LT if Moore is let walk. Not sure that Jones is even ready for LT duty in year 3.

Sure. It depends on what kind of offense they want to run and how can use his athleticism. An athletic OT is going to be able to stay with the athletic edge rushers, but he can also get out on screens in an RPO quick passing game from OT and when used with a blocking TE like #80, there is a lot you can do in pulling, down block with a kick-out or in wide zone.

If Fautanu comes back healthy, the addition of him, Frazier and McCormick are going to be solid to add with Jones in his 3rd year. But they need some nasty edge to them and technique of keeping hands inside on pass protection and not allowing the pocket to collapse. Its why I am all good if they move on from Meyer at coach.

It really sucks that the NFL doesn't make every game available free to the entire country on broadcast tv. For those that aren't already set up to do it, the whole experience is aggravating and infuriating. Once again, the greed of the NFL rules over giving access to the games to the most people.

Just a heads up - be SUPER careful about Andriod streaming boxes. Many, if not all, are trojan horses laden with malware.

If you do install it, consider isolating it on a separate "guest" wifi network on your router.

You're mileage may vary. But I wouldn't hook up one of these boxes anywhere near stuff I cared about.

You can get a $20 android box and get IPTV for free or some charge monthly. Walmart sells the box. It is small and I have had them for 5 years. I use a VPN as well.

I wouldn't pay for those pre loaded boxes because you can download the apps yourself.

I will watch free agency and then the draft to OTAs, training camp then preseason etc. Repeat and rinse.

Plenty of other things to watch. Movies, series, PPV, other sports etc

Yes, good points. I use a wired connection only for the box(it provides better streaming that way too). I disconnect it when done viewing. My wi-fi is turned off on the box also. A VPN may also be used if need be. My PCs are wireless. I turn the wi-fi off when I am not using them. I have been doing that for many years.

Yes, made in Hong Kong, so be wary. Then again what electronic and/or streaming devices are not made overseas : (

So far it has been great. I use it for the games and watching old movies/shows. I cancelled Netflix. I have Prime for shopping and I have shared passwords from relatives for HBO and Paramount.

Those $20 boxes are for streaming channels you pay for like Roku etc..., yes? The IPTV providers charge you monthly and the stream can be rather poor. That's not to say the box I mentioned is always perfect, but the connection is more consistent. To each their own : )

I'm no expert but sounds like you're well covered precautions wise!

Wasn't trying to crap on the idea. Honestly. Just wanted to add a bit to the conversation.

I have crystal clear reception. Also you can side load any android app on those Android boxes.

I also have the free IPTV as a backup.

I didn't think you were diminishing anything. What you stated are important items to consider when purchasing.

Don't buy the box I posted, from Amazon.

I agree. The last game was terrible, the team just looked like they did not want to be there. There wasno emotion or want to win feelings. Just going through the motions. Boring losers !!
