    D. Johnson on waivers, should we bite?

This is a tough one for me. Talent wise, he'd be an instant upgrade until Pickens comes back. Then, wed have two legit receivers in the 1 and 2 slot. I know many were frustrated with drops, but he was the tenth best in no drops the last couple of years.
My concern would be attitude. However, he's on his last year if his contract. So, there isn't a lot of downside to letting him go if he doesn't work out a second time. Plus, that is the one position that is hurting us most right now

Re: D. Johnson on waivers, should we bite?

    I’ll go no.

Johnson has never played in Smith’s offense. He’s never played with any of the QBs on the roster.

He’s demonstrated that he kinda mixes with Pickens like fire and gasoline.

I’ve always been a DJ fan. I still think he’s incredibly talented. He can create separation on glue.

But he’s unlikely to find a way to positively contribute.

That being said, he’ll get claimed by the Chiefs and catch 2 TDs in the superbowl.

As much as he irritates me with drops and running backwards, he can get open better than anyone besides GP. I wonder if the bridge is burned.

True. For some dumb reason he’s always running forwards…

I'm gonna have to take a hard pass. He wouldn't be able to get up to speed with the playbook in time to have any impact.

They need to draw up more passes to the TE to open up the running game. They can skip adding a WR that probably won't do much anyway.

We need a no 2. I say give it a shot. If anyone can make it work its a players coach like Tomlin

I'm 50/50 on it. Possibly DJ only had issues with Pickett and Canada. But didn't we all?

Not everybody had issues with Pickett. Canada yes I hope.

Johnson may have punched Mitch Trubisky at halftime of a game and he and Minkah Fitzpatrick got into it in the locker room.

Trubisky denied the incident, but DJ admitted there was an argument between them.

    Not a great teammate.

Maybe Pickett wasn't the problem some think he was.

Maybe or maybe not with DJ. But Pickett became a problem in the organization’s eyes. But regardless, I’m still 50/50,on whether DJ can find redemption.

I'm 80/20 that he will not.

3 different teams in 1 season should be the hint that he is a headcase that isnt worth putting in your locker room if you are serious about winning and not damaging the team culture.

It would definitely take the right coach. The Texans coach seems a little Tomlin-ish. I do think that Tomlin could have reeled him back in.

Per reports, The Chargers were the only team that put in a claim for DJ.

THe Texans claimed him and were awarded him. I would think the Chargers would be higher on the waiver order than the Texans based on AFC records.
