Playoffs are difficult to get excited about when you see the Offense struggling as much as it does. Wilson isn't as advertised in the red zone and the Steelers have 1 legitimate WR.
Of course facts don't count. It is all vibes.
The Steelers likely could beat anyone. Any given Sunday and all that. But are a cut below teams like the Eagles, Bills, and (healthy) Lions.
They are in the next tier of teams down. Ravens, Steelers, Chiefs. Capable of beating (almost) anyone but have some serious flaws that can be exploited.
I wouldn't argue with that. But....I do not think Allen is going to get knocked out anytime soon.
He is not a normal human being. What he is doing right now is a sight to behold. Like he was already really really good. Now, he is just taking it to another place. No idea how you slow him down enough to compete. Even smacking the snot out of him doesn't seem to work. He just gets angry and bulldozes the entire defense on the next play.
He's playing great. Remember his draft year when pundits complained about his low completion rate in college and predicted he would not be a good NFL QB because of it?
Anyways, the Steelers have qualified for the playoff tournament, which is cool. I'd like to see them win the division and get a home playoff game, so this week is a big game towards that.
It is incredible to me. We, as NFL fans, got daily updates on seemingly the entire league chasing in-season WR trade upgrades. And all of those moves have been about as useful as a fart in a thunderstorm.
Cooper, Mike Williams, Diontae Johnson. All basically zeros for their new teams. Hopkins has made minimal contributions. Adams is the only one with an "impact" and that is likely more because Rodgers isn't really running an offense - just him and Adams doing stuff.
I fail to understand how it can be impossible for a guy to come in and make a contribution in the middle of a season. People join new workplaces all the time and learn the "system". Are NFL players specially dumb? Are coaches far worse teachers than they think? Is an NFL practice week just too specialized game planning focused for a new guy to learn anything?
If all of these are true...then how do teams ever replace guys due to injury at any position?
Honestly, I just think these guys are likely pretty dim bulbs and the coaching can't be too great either if you can't get them to contribute something. Also makes me think that in-season trades are vastly over-rated. If you don't break camp with a guy....just write off them contributing.
Adams did make an impact in the second half of yesterdays game. Before that, last week he did well and then very minimal. Maybe he is starting to find his stride with Rodgers again but it took time.
Let's GO!!!!!![]()
I dont believe the eagles are a cut above the steelers. We were one Najee cough up away from turning that game into a real dogfight, and that was without our best receiver. And the Eagles almost got beat by the panthers the week before so i’ll hold off on crowning them kings of the conference or league
Just a question for discussion. Everybody hates to lose any games and sitting people is a good way to lose games. So here's the question... If we beat the Ravens this week and win the division, do we treat the remaining 2 games more like pre season and rest starters, let nagging injuries rest, etc...?
The Texans are 1 games back and we could drop from 3rd to 4th seed either way. OR the Texans could already be testing guys in order to make their playoff run.
I don't 100%like either option.
If we beat the Ravens you can bet Fields gets a lot more snaps.
All Defense!
That would be the exact opposite effect the NFL wanted by featuring the Steelers in December. We know what happens to the Steelers when they play on Thursdays after a Sunday game. The players need rest just like starting MLB pitchers need rest or they either are ineffective or blow out their arms.
All Defense!
I would play to win the games until they become meaningless. However unlikely, there's a chance to sneak into the number 2 seed. I wouldn't play anyone who wouldn't be playing in September with their injuries. You PLAY to WIN the GAME.
You always play to win the game. I would be thinking more along the lines of limiting snaps, resting a player with an injury that testing will help, or even just giving an older player a half or the whole game off due to 'personal' reasons. Still trying to win the game.
Example, you let GP rest his hammy rather than risk it getting worse even if he can go vs Chiefs or Bengals. IF that helps us in the playoffs. You always play to win the game, but the championship is the ultimate goal.
they clinched , now its backing in time...smh the losses are mounting and so are the injuries .....
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar
