All heroes no goats.
Shout out to Boz, Waitman and the special teams
i thought Jpj would have another bad game but looks like he settled down
Steelers are semi goats for being up by 20 and then doing their best to make it interesting. Fortunately they didn’t do as good a job at that as they usually do. So my heart survived this week.
Heroes: Russ: He didn't have his "bomb receiver" today, but like the cagey vet he is, he figured it out. Really liked the screens today.
Warren: Not that Najee was lacking today but Warren looked really good
"Muth": finally becoming a weapon.
O'line: Still a work in progress, but good run blocking and, while Russ was under some pressure it was manageable.
Defense: Played well. Not too worried about the run yards in the second half. Most of those yards came against two linebackers. Browns were picking
chunks and bleeding clock.
Goats : Maybe Patterson for the fumble.
I have no other comments except to say: Myles Garrett is an over-hyped bag of crap.
“They say you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. So I got rid of everything to see what I had.” ~ Steven Wright
Great team win. My only point of frustration was watching Najee shuffle his feet for -1 to 1 yard runs. If the circumstances had dictated Russ could have put up bigger numbers in the second half. It was good to see Mike Williams come alive.
At one point in this game(in the 2nd quarter), Najee had an average of over 6yards per carry. Looks like the Browns made a defensive adjustment to shut that down in the 2nd half.
Russ had another stellar game. His experience really pops off the screen lately. (btw Russ is 5-0 vs the Eagles and 3-0 in Philly for his career)
This defense gives it up maybe between the 20s, but shuts it down once teams get into 3rd down, or the red zone.
ST still playing special.
Whoda thunk we’d miss Ray Ray McCloud?!
Those are good stats for Russ. Hopefully some of that carries over. Don’t have a lot of confidence in that though. The Eagles will be their toughest test and a real barometer of where this team stands. I fear it’s not as good as some think and not winning in Philly since 1965 or whatever isn’t helping…but then again, the law of averages…
I nominate Ben Skowronek - he’s been playing with energy and blocking and doing whatever is asked and his hustle got him to recover the Toney muff.
Was only able to watch the first 3 quarters, so heroes was a team effort, they kind of got stuck in the mud for a bit, but made some adjustments and put up some points, could have had another TD at the end to put them over 30. If we can keep this up with this defense we are as capable as anyone else who has a chance at a ring. I am salivating at seeing GP AND Williams out there testing defenses, with CA3 in the slot and Muth or Washington plus either RBs coming out of the backfield, that is some good firepower.
Excited to see how we stack up the next 3 games, I really want to beat the Chiefs and Rats, the Eagles are an NFC team so we can lose that without any problems.
I would not give Patterson the football on a critical play in the Super Bowl.
I noticed no penalties on Broderick Jones this week, so he is getting better.
I think Tomlin likes to stoke the fire in his players until they are like a nuclear bomb going off over an exploding volcano. Then he dials them back after a few PI and roughness penalties.
All Defense!
