That’s gonna be a good question as Moore has played much MUCH better than anyone thought he would. It’s funny how well he played and how poorly Jones has played. It’s almost like it’s a wash at this point.

I think they have to. If Brod Jones played like Moore was playing this year - we would be praising Jones like crazy. We hesitate praising Moore because we have seen how bad Moore has been in the past. but hey, the guy learned and improved and gained experience and is playing solid. And character-wise he’s as solid as they come.

I would pay Moore to keep the line consistent and insert Fautanu in at RT next year. Brod can be the swing. Heaven knows the swing player will defninitely play at some point so it’s good to have depth there

And maybe Jones is just slower to develop at this level?

Is Jones hurt? It seems a lot of these guys hold but once refs start calling it on one player a lot they seem to get singled out. Every OL holds, some are just better at hiding it. I don't want to give up on Jones just yet, I wish we had a better OL coach to help him develop instead.

It is too bad that the other first round OT is hurt. Brod Jones just looks like a guy who needs a break. I'm not even trying to be snarky or condescending here. He just looks like a guy that things have kinda snowballed on him and he needs a moment to get his head right. Cowher used to sit guys down for like a game or two and then they would sometimes bounce back (young Ike Taylor sticks in my mind). I suspect it was due to injury to start the year and then it just got him too far inside his own head.

Bu, yeah, they might have to find a way to pay Moore.

Yes but you always want Moore for less ...

The league is OL hungry right now. Whether from us or another team, I expect Dan Moore to get a good payday.

Will the Steelers pay him? I think they will make their offer and if he or his agent decide to go shopping we will probably lose Dan. There really isn't enough information of Fautanu moving forward for me to jump on either side.

Are The Steelers Leaning Toward Starting Broderick Jones Or Dan Moore At Left Tackle In 2025?

That is a better question than the QB or RB IMO. At the beginning of the season, yes…pay Moore because Jones looked a mess. Moore has been playing EXTREMELY well and now Jones seems to have figured some things out. So now what?? If you pay Moore, Fautanu comes back, you have potentially three very good OTs…two of which are on a deal. If you pay Moore on a 2-3 year deal, you dump Moore after year 2 and pay the younger guys?

    Great offseason storyline.

I would be surprised if Moore is brought back. He'll get a nice pay day elsewhere.

Broderick and Fautanu are the two bookend tackles going forward.

Move one of the three to G and have a great OL. If I was Jones I would learn to play every position on the OL including long snapper.

you do realize long snappers are considered defenseless players and consequently thats why they use linebacker sized guys there because they can not be ran through and the LB sized guy is move limber most times and can make the longer snap without body mass hindering the motion

Brod is working out and Moore will be gone in 2025.
