I think Danny Smith is the greatest benefactor of the new kickoff rules. He couldn’t seem to coach ST when it came to kickoff run backs before, but it seems like coaching guys to block kicks is his sweet spot.

Maybe, but I don't discount the idea that he's become better at his craft. Some people do continue to learn and get better at their jobs throughout the entirety of the careers. But ultimately, the players need to be good at execution. Both can be true.

His units have tightened up on the penalties but yeah, it doesn't hurt to have Miles Killabrew and get James Pierre and Dirty Red back as well as Skowhatever added.

This exactly.

He has always been a good coach. The difference between a few extra blocks a season and a few less yards per return on coverage, etc is most often some good special teamers that want to go and compete harder than guys justifying a hat on gameday.

I noticed that too. I appreciate the lineman getting him away.

I love that you’re scrappy, but they hire the big uglies to fight for you. Boz is too valuable to be anywhere near the scrum.
