They could not flex this game because
CBS has the game locked. I am very glad.

    Re: So Begins Ravens Week!

Going to be a tough game. The Ravens have lots of weapons. If you stack the box to stop Henry, they can go to the air with Jackson to DJ or Flowers. Our only hope is DJ catches a pass sees the Steelers uniforms and runs backwards.

Seriously this is a game where you have to outscore them like the Bengals almost did last Thursday. They are going to put up a lot of points. I really think the AFC/NFL will cream all over themselves to make sure the AFC championship game is Ravens vs Chiefs.

But to keep my negative mojo working ... This has loss written all over it.

I think the Ravens offense is good at the things the Steelers defense seems to be struggling to stop right now (TEs and interior running). It might get pretty ugly. The hope is that the Ravens defense is pliable enough to allow the moonshots to keep the Steelers in a shoot-out. But that magic has to run out at some point. I thought it would be this past Sunday. Gotta figure it is this upcoming one then.

Ravens take it by 2 TDs and it feels like more than that.

Steelers win, without a doubt. Mike Williams is worked more into the offense. The Steelers defense handles LJ very well. I expect that to continue.

Likely another close ravens-steelers game....When the last time a ravens-steelers game was a blowout?

    week 17 in 2019 with Delvin Hodges,a 26-10 game?

If you call 38-6 Ravens close…

    Re: So Begins Ravens Week!

Man, this may be a true classic. The Ravens have a dynamic offense. The Steelers still have a stingy, hard-hitting defense. The AFCN lead is on the line. The two longest-tenured coaches in the NFL battling head-to-head once again.

I won’t lie- the Ravens secondary scares me. Man, it’s bad. Legendarily bad. But I am not convinced it’s a talent issue vs a scheming issue. This secondary was touted as one of the best in the NFL before the season began. Whatever Orr and the position coaches have done/not done is the issue. That can be corrected, but maybe not by Sunday.

Injury-wise I think Baltimore looks ok except for Hamilton. If he’s out, that’s a big loss. How did Pittsburgh fare for injuries yesterday?

I wasn't able to catch the game yesterday, but I understand Highsmith sustained an ankle injury. Not sure how bad it is. If he's out, I'm afraid Henry's probably going to have a big day on the ground.

No way Highsmith can play on a folded over ankle this week.

I think Highsmith will be out. Ankles not supposed to bend that far over. Preston Smith and Herbig going to be needed, but our D line concerns me vs the run. Sure Cam is playing well, but I saw Benton on skates too much and when they put Sourmilk in to play D line on the goal line, he is a road pylon.

This will be a litmus test for Steelers, but I think the Ravens win by 6. Hope I am wrong.

Donte Jackson has a hamstring injury. We will see how much he practices this week. I hope Trice is coming back soon.

Watching the replay, it reminded me of the Pirates player who stepped on the first base back wrong and nearly separated his foot from his leg.

Yeah, I saw that ankle. I’ve done that before. I don’t have the access to health care NFL players do, but that doesn’t look like a “one week and it’s healed” sprain (or worst). Is Harris good? I thought I saw him go down but he returned to the field so I’m guessing it wasn’t serious.

Hasn't Henry got injured yet? I was counting on him being out for the Steelers game. I guess we still have a few practices for him to get turf toe.

I don't get why we are underdogs at home. Oddsmakers are not convinced apparently.

    By 3.5 points!

The ravens have won by 4 points or more only twice in Pittsburgh in the Harbaugh era(2014 playoffs and in 2018)

The Ravens are going to get a lot of chunk yardage on the left side. The pass rush will be fine without Highsmith, but its a big dropoff in run contain moving down to Herbig who Im assuming will get the vast majority of the snaps on that side

I think Preston Smith will be our starter and I think Herbig will be in passing down situation

Correct. From what I read about Smith when we signed him is he is a prolific run stopper.

I think that would make a lot of sense with this particular matchup as long as Smith is up to speed with all his assignments. I'm not sure how much coverage he will be able to play, but it should be very interesting to see it unfold.

So looking forward to this game plus now Tapatalk is smooth since I decided to pay them 99¢ a month. This is a 27-24 game and be either way. May be 37-34 with the way the offenses are scoring.

What Queen did in the Commanders game against Daniels, should be very similar (and a nice warm up) for the Ravens game.

The Queen we saw against the Commanders is the one I want to see against the Ravens, and the rest of the season!

steelers have won 5 of the last 6 meetings , Lamar has been ineffective in pretty much every meeting , the steelers are leaders in the division , the steelers are at home and the Steelers are home Dogs .... take the points 100% of the time ......

I think the Steelers win outright by 3 or less points like always
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar

The previous point totals Lamar Jackson has compiled when battling Pittsburgh: 10, 16, 19, 24, and 14.

Tomlin is 61-34 against the spread as an underdog. He’s even better as a divisional underdog, owning a 22-10 ATS record.
