140 rushing yards is not that good when the steelers run the ball 43 times.Harris was off in that game but it was not just his fault

Because, in my opinion, most of his penalties are because he's working his rear-end off and is fighting on every play. Sometimes, it goes to far. I'm fine with that. Moreover, I'm not going to blame Porter for McLaurin's dive (okay, to be fair, I don't think it was a dive as much as a slip). Watch it again, Porter barely had his hands on him and most definitely did not exert force to push him down. Strangely, I can't say it was a bad call, either. Just one of those things where the call is going to happen because of what it looks like.
It's also why I don't like instant replay in any sport for a judgement call. Drawing penalties is part of the game. Taking advantage of a situation is heads up.
I didnt notice Moore have any big let downs in pass protection. Jones had a few but he seemed to be playing better than previous weeks...solid in run game and a few pass pro let downs but nothing like in past. McCormick and Frazier again looked good I thought.
Maybe I need to review the recording of the game, but I thought they played well against a good defense.
Porter has been "grabby" since college and many draft pundits thought he needed to clean that up when he gets to the NFL. Porter had the 6th most penalties of any player in the NFL last season with 12 penalties. With 3 yesterday he has to be trying to top that total from last season.
3 penalties in a game is too many but if he has only 1 penalty per game and he shutdown the opposing WR for most of the game,I can live with 1 penalty on average....Of course the game vs commanders was likely his worst game of his young career
I think you have to add together the catches given up and the PI’s. If he gives up 2 catches for 20 yards and 1 PI for 30 yards, that’s 3 for 50. Plus it’s often the case that the receiver would have caught the ball without the PI. If he’s giving up 6-8 catches for 90 yards plus another 40 in PI that’s ridiculous.
With an o-lineman holding, it often happens on a play with a big gain, so the net penalty is 30-40 yards. Plus it usually shuts the drive down altogether.
That's my thought process related to the difference.
BTW, JPJ has the same number of penalties this year as Sauce Gardner.
