I don't like the call. I would have saved that for another time and for a different part of the field.
Why not put Skoronek at that position to catch the ball? Pierre might be the last person I would throw to on the whole roster.

They based going for it on getting a certain look that they identified on film. The players usually have the permission of the coaching staff to execute the fake if they get that look. That particular look could most likely come to either side of the field. Unfortunately, Pierre was on the open side and gagged on the play.

I think that was Wilson making an intentional back shoulder throw. Jefferson didn't adjust to the ball because he didn't get his head around soon enough.

I think it's one of those situations where the special teams coach and Tomlin need to specifically tell the special teams unit not to run that play because of field position. If the coaches don't nix that, the players have the go ahead when the opportunity comes during the game...wherever and whenever that may be.
