He had only 21 target with the Jets.He had 250 yards in 3 games last season before his season ending injury and over 800 yards in 13 games in 2022....He can be good,we need to wait and see!

I'm not sure who some of you were expecting at this point. They swung and missed on the big dogs. The one that got away that probably could have been had was D Hop. Otherwise, Williams is an upgrade on the room.

Very good point. Williams was known for that, even coming out of college.

He has 9.3 yards per target and over 15 yards per catch in his career...What were the better option possible in this position?

He had also only 95 yards in his rookie season and 250 yards only last season because he had played only 3 game....Don't need to be a super star but just a good number 2 behind Pickens

Almost certainly NONE of the other rumored names were actually available. I am surprised the Jets didn't retain Williams as Lazard Insurance. Rodgers must have really soured on him.

this is the balance of this season rental , he was on a 1 year prove it deal with Jets for 10 million ...

he was really talented in college but it never fully translated to the NFL ...will have to wait n see but I told one of my sons he may struggle to beat out van jefferson at this point for snaps

and I believe we over payed ...

a 5th round pick for a guy with almost no production and under contract for just 9 more games ... that to me seems desperate

maybe he kicks ass but I am not gonna hold my breath

Of the WRs that were actually available....Williams was the best fit for how Wilson likes to play on offense.

Would've been cool if the Jets took a 7th or some future pick....put the Steelers needed to get the deal done and the Jets knew it.

$300K and a 2025 5th round pick to see if Williams can catch a couple dozen moonshots from Wilson. Sure. Why not. At least I don't have to watch Scotty Miller try and do it.

Mike Tomlin is getting a big veteran WR to put opposite Pickens. Whatever Michael Williams has left in the tank, you can bet MT will get the most of it. Just think how this spreads a defense now and how this will help our run game and those pesky MOF routes. If you don't like this move now, just give it time. You will.
