Crazy how Tomlin is only guy held accountable by you. KP asked for trade. Tomlins job is improving team which includes QB corps. He accomplished that. Sure you can throw in the stat of no playoff wins in 7-8 whatever years but to this point in season Tomlin has done fantastic job. No one telling you what you can’t post but you should be held accountable for erroneous posts.

And that was really the original sin here with all other things just lesser secondary sins (that's how that works, right?).

I get that they rolled the dice on not changing OC's on the youngster. That is often bad as well. But in this case, the organization was super duper wrong.

Trying to understand the process/decision making with Canada from hiring to firing is one of those things where I wish I knew football far better than I do. It seems, to me, that someone looked at what Canada was doing at the college level and was like "Hey! Check it out - motion, spreading the defense out, creating coverage conflicts that break the defense. That is all the things that are powering NFL offenses right now. Lets go get some.". Ok, so that is how he got hired. Then he gets to the Steelers and it all kinda looks like that but doesn't work like the more effective versions are across the league. So he gets another year with a new QB to "fully implement" his system. It still kinda looks like crap. So he gets ANOTHER year to "gain continuity" and then (finally) gets fired. I am at a loss to explain how Tomlin and others could not see the nonsense that was Canada's offense.

We have literally seen Tomlin watching film and diagnosing the opposing offense with uncanny accuracy. How could he not see the failings in Canada's designs? No offense to anyone on here, but if some of you fine folks can see them; then I know it wasn't a mystery to NFL coaches.

I dunno. It makes my brain hurt. I think we all realized sometime in 2022 that Canada just motioned players kinda randomly and his pass routes had no real purpose. It is like he watched a bunched of spread motion offenses and tried to recreate one with no understanding of why the originals worked.

So Canada is responsible for the original sin, the fall of the human race? I can get on board with that.

Yes, and popcorn sales are down at the concession stands and that's Tomlin's fault.

    Obviously

When every football outlet that spews their opinions and/or breaks down games from a point of actual knowledge all agree on how bad Canada was as OC, it does get confusing on why he was kept for as long as he was.

The Arthur Smith offense is not perfect. BUT... when it runs the way it did vs the Bengals last week it looks almost perfect. To the tune of 44 points. People will say it was the terrible Bengals defense, but even against that defense Canada wasn't getting anywhere close to 44 points.

I think... Russ has been good in this offense. I think potentially he can be great in this offense.

I agree and believe RW has earned the team's trust and confidence, which is crucial if they make it to the postseason.

It means so much when everyone believes in what they are doing and why.

Indeed, and it's not limited to football as you know!

KP asked for a trade because he knew Wilson was much better. In fact, Wilson can be a HoFer guaranteed with 1 more SB win. He probably already is based on Kurt Warner getting in 2017.

KP will never sniff a SB as a starter.

Tomlin was the one who made all the decisions about the QB's since Ben retired, so of course he should be held accountable. And several times I've pointed out the post in the original Justin Fields thread where Fields' agent told him days before Kenny asked for a trade that Kenny was going to be traded, which proves that they were going to get rid of him anyway whether he asked to be traded or not. But each time I bring this up guys like you conveniently forget about it since it blows up a big part of your anti-Kenny agenda.

Certainly not nearly as well as Kenny Pickett
