QB controversy is over in Pittsburgh. I would sign both to new contracts. Fields deserves lots of respect, but Wilson is a bonafide starter. Give him a few games to get back to elite status. He looked polished by the 4th quarter. Man I am getting excited for them.

For those having trouble comprehending what they are reading on this thread, Tomlin went 'Lone Ranger' for the Jets game. That would mean a 100% Tomlin game. He won by 22 points. Why would I not want more of that?

This is a good problem to have but by god there is so little precedence for this sort of thing happening. What do we do if Russell absolutely KILLS IT going forward and finds the fountain of youth? What kind of deals are we signing these guys too? Both guys have been incredibly professional about sitting on the bench but you have to wonder how long that can last if Russell starts another year. Somebody would have to become the league's most expensive backup. At least we have a shit ton of cap space upcoming

If Russ plays great the rest of the way, then we probably get rid of Fields. Hell, maybe we try to trade Fields to a team like the Raiders before the deadline. I am all about trying to get something for one of our 1 year loaner QBs.

given how all in on advancing in the playoff I'd be really stunned if they traded Fields. If Russ gets hurt, you still have a chance with Justin in there.

If Russ keeps it up and we make noise in the playoffs he’s going to want 30 mil per year (guessing, Cousins makes 40). In that case if we resign him Fields is not sticking around. He’ll be gone to a Qb needy team (there seem to be a few). I don't think Fields is a long term answer for us anyway. He’ll most likely always be a run first Qb with limited passing ability.

Steelers Praised For Having A Quality Offensive Attack: 'There's No More Kenny Pickett...There's Adults In The Room'

The Pittsburgh Steelers may not have broken the 30-point threshold, but their offense was still clicking in their 26-18 win over the New York Giants. The team amassed 426 yards of total offense and 6.8 yards per play, as they could not be stopped (except in the red zone for some reason). While they still need to learn how to properly finish a drive, there is still a lot of optimism in the Steel City. Russell Wilson may be the quarterback that Pittsburgh desperately needed since Ben Roethlisberger's final years.

While on 93.7 The Fan, Joe Starkey had endless praise for the new-age Steelers offense, and he explained why everything is different.

"It's only going to get better. There's adults in the room! There's no more Kenny Pickett. There's no more Matt Canada. There's adults in the room. Russell Wilson has been there and done that many times, including, contrary to popular belief, just last season in Denver, with a coach who hated him. Arthur Smith has come in and lent a professionalism to the offense."

Watching some video breakdown of Wilson so far this season and some of the things he’s done has been amazing and a lot of it we are not realizing that it’s been done.

One of the plays that stuck out was his pass to Freiermuth in the Jets game. He ran a naked bootleg and knew he had a one on one left with the rushing DE as he turns his back to that side, turns back around, takes a step to his left with the defender crashing in and then pulls up and steps right to complete the throw to Freiermuth. I’m not sure any of the QBs the Steelers have had in the last 5 seasons would’ve even thought of how that would work, let alone accomplish it. Peyton broke it down showing how difficult that is to accomplish.

The one where he pulled PF back inside and got Austin singled up against the safety for the TD in the Giants game was some savvy veteran stuff
