The Defense isn't going to pitch shutouts every game. Sooner or later the other team wakes up and starts making plays.

No but the 3 and outs tire your defense out quicker. Eventually you have to score TD's, but sometimes just holding the ball for a few minutes can be very helpful to your defense.
