Ho do you "ruin" a player that hasnt really done anything yet?
Frazier looks like a solid player in the middle. Fautanu gonna be a long term starter. Seumalo and Daniels have outperformed their previous play in the league. Dan Moore isnt great, but hasnt been terrible so far.
The notion that any coaches are having Jones move before the snap or hold players in space to the point that they had to pull him for being a drive killer is just an insane belief by fans.

I honestly dont like that attitude. If you are not starting but are getting repetitions, then you go in and make the most of the reps that you get.
Guys like Herbig, Loudermilk, Adams, Trice are not starters, but they dont turn down the reps and just try to make plays when on the field. Jones needs to do that and he can hopefully progress to being a starter in the Offense. But IMO, attitude is more important than ability and that isnt the one to have.
Jones showed a lot of potential last year and a lot of confidence. Yanking him in and out has to be a blow to his confidence and if it continues, it could be something he doesn’t comeback from. It’s just human nature. Maybe not but the visual of him on the sideline didn’t look promising.
Honestly, Jones looked atrocious in preseason last year. That is why Chukks was playing and he was not last season. He had some good games at RT, but also at times played Matador pass protection. This preseason was not great either for any that watched the preseason games.
Football is competition, life is competition. If a guy screws up 3 out of 6 snaps, then he has to be man enough to sit has ass down on the bench and realize the guy that replaced him is much better and Jones better start competing to be better if he wants to get in the lineup. If his confidence is that fragile, then he better get used to being a failure as I know of 10 year olds with more mental toughness.
Jones needs to work in practice like he was a UDFA, improve his technique, realize that he needs help with hand placement, striking and footwork that will maximize effectiveness while minimizing penalties. That will get him to be a starter and a guy with a $80 million contract at some point.
Basically he needs to come to practice like he is the 2nd coming of Kelvin Beachum and not the 2nd coming of Jamain Stephens.
So we got our first round pick wrong again?
we got our first round Qb wrong apparently, and the OC, and a few other first rounders (Burns, Edmunds, going back to “sac man” Jones). You can throw in the atrocious decision to replace Pouncey with Kendrick Green as well
seems like its happening too often, who is making these decisions? Since Dan Rooney’s passing seems these bad decisions have become more frequent
Too early to say we missed he is clearly not in a good place right now. One of the advantages to sitting is that as the season goes on the spotlight lightens a bit. Maybe one of the tackles gets hurt and he comes in and plays decently and rebuilds his confidence.
We're trying to get something done this year. I'm all for playing whoever is playing better now. Next year is next year.
After watching our OL struggle this badly, I really do think Pat Meyer should be fired.
Players really do learn.
I am still concerned about the o line. Not only who will be the LT but the depth.
The backups are the Andersons, McCollum, Cook and just guys to round out the rest.
I am not expecting starters but they usually sign some backups with decent experience

There was apparently a statement put out there that BroJo will be the LT. I wish I knew the source and could post it. If I find it I will post it.
Fautanu is the favorite to play at RT. By default really.
Seumalu, Frazier, and McCormick are the expected IOL starters.
The starting lineup looks ok on paper but nothing to get excited about. As always with the OL, it's a group effort. Hopefully, they take a big leap forward. They must get stronger as a unit, we know that much. I have to wonder if they are thinking we can sign more after cuts? The only OL we brought in for a visit was Milum, and he was a local visit.

I found the source I was looking for about the OTs. Keep in mind this is a posting from April 1st. LOL
An interesting young OL we have is Doug Nester. Listed as a 6'-6" OG, 310LBs. Another WV guy. He spent last season on PS.
Yeah, I have never watched him but his Draft profile says "has the size and NFL frame, but not the athlete to get to 2nd level LB's or strength and explosiveness to move interior D linemen". Looks like a project that needed to get quicker and stronger. Maybe the year on the PS and in training program helped out, or maybe he is just Practice Squad fodder.
Steelers have now given Meyer bookend 1st round OTs.
If our OL continues to suck Meyer needs to go.
I still don't know about Meyer. We have a couple of players that seemed to get a little better after they left the team which doesn't look good. On the other hand, Moore certainly was not a bust for 4th round pick and clearly developed. In addition, the two rookies who started last year performed more than adequately. Meyer continues to be a mixed bag at this point. If the o'line doesn't get better overall, then a change in coordinator will, of course, be in order.
