So basically, the Steelers need a new OC that isn’t a dinosaur…Kubiak would’ve been nice to have…

The performance of Arthur Smith's Pittsburgh Steelers offense on Thursday Night Football against the Cleveland Browns was puzzling...

The Steelers enter Sunday’s game against the Bengals ranked 30th in the NFL in red-zone touchdown percentage at 44.4%, and they’ve scored just one touchdown in their past six trips into the red zone in the past two games.

    Re: FIRE Arthur Smith!

I have been away from here since the game. We got crushed by a snowstorm/ice storm Friday. So many trees came down, we couldn't even make it to a main road on Friday. We lost power Friday morning, and the power just came back on last night! My family had to stay at my sister's house for several days. Not a great experience. And all this after watching the Steelers piss one away Thursday night.

I made some comments during the game day thread explaining how Russell Wilson kind of shit the bed in this one. I don't think Tomlin or Arthur Smith did anyone any favors on the field as well.

With that said, I don't think it's time to overreact to anything from this one game. As I said, Russell Wilson made a ton of mistakes in this game by holding the ball. Those mistakes led to a missed field goal, a turnover on downs, and multiple bad down/distance situations. Wilson sometimes refuses to get the ball out of his hands and take the checkdown or the short gains that are wide open.

Mike Tomlin put his team in a bad situation by going for it on fourth down a couple times when there really wasn't a need to do it.

And Arthur Smith continues to use curious personnel groups out there that don't get the best players on the field. I have seen a ton of Matt Canada. This is not in the vicinity of Matt Canada's embarrassingly bad offense.

Let's also not forget that players were making tons of mistakes too. It's just one game. There are adjustments to be made, and this is still an offense in flux as the coaches and personnel are fine tuning how best to implement the offense and work together.

I just want to see what happens in this coming game after a long week to get their energy back after the extremely physical rivalry game with the Ravens and the short week with the Browns. This coming week should really be a much better game to gauge where this team is all the way around. As I did when Pickett was here, I am not going to overreact to things. Let's see where this goes. The coaching staff is aware of how things didn't work out this week and why. At least I hope so. I'm not yelling for anyone to get fired over one game.

    Let's go!!

Go to UNC. Ben Johnson to the Steelers as an OC/Assistant HC.

Arthur Smith will get offers. He is a very good offensive coach. Our issues are execution, not play calls/design. Growing pains.

Wouldn't that be a lateral move?

He definitely wouldn’t take it because I think he’s probably getting a HC position but maybe with an Assistant HC tag that would help the lateral move?

It was more wishful thinking than a reality.

I take all this with hesitation. The Bengals have a historically bad defense they are trotting out there this season. I need to see this kind of effort a couple/few times and not just against the Bungles.

Dan Orlovsky was talking about this yesterday on ESPN's Get Up. They are the first team in history to do many things defensively at a hard-to-believe-bad level.

Joe Burrow is the first quarterback in history to have 5 games of over 300 yards passing and 3 TD's and lose. There were two other quarterbacks that had four games like that in a season....but Burrow still has almost a third of the season to go!

The Bengals have lost 6 games scoring 25 or more points this season.

The Bengals have lost four games scoring 33 or more points in a season(The most in history).

The Bengals have lost three games when they have scored at least 34 points (The most in history).

The Bengals have lost 2 games scoring at least 38 points! That is almost unimaginable.

I found the video of the show. They show highlights of the Steelers/Bengals game at around the 4:00 mark, and the remarks about the Bengals defense starts around the 10:00 mark.

Burrow is playing at an insane level, and they still can't win a game. Incredible.

If the Bengals were 9-2, 10-1, Burrow would be an MVP candidate...

    No doubt.

The guy has been incredible. What he continues to do against relentless pressure is almost unprecedented. Burrow never gets gun shy. He stands in there and makes the throw, or he moves and is still able to keep his eyes down the field and throw the ball accurately.

    What a player.
