hard to take him seriously when he says this tho ....
Calvin Austin only posted 180 receiving yards despite appearing in 17 games as a rookie.
If you recall CA3 was lost to injury his rookie year and never played a down
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. Eagles didn't value him either , now he is a Stain at the Mistake by the Lake 3 teams in 4 years more of a shooting star than a superstar

Those were CA3s stats for 2023, which technically was his 2nd season but could also be considered his rookie year because he was injured and didn't play at all in 2022.

Ok. So let’s take a look at this thing.

First there is the claim that the Steelers have been “linked” to Burks. Ok. That’s reasonable. Who reported the link? What’s the nature of the link?

Ah! Further down we find it. Some totally unconnected yahoo forced to churn out content for Bleacher Report put together a list of fantasy NFL trades that make sense to him. Ok. No problem.

But when whatever chucklehead or AI put the final post together it made nonsense. Because the ONLY “link” is a list of fake trades that someone pulled out of thin air.

Or at least without my glasses on and on my increasingly small phone screen that’s all the sense I could make out of this garbage fire.

If I missed the actual content please let me know.

It’s wishful thinking. After yesterday I realized why they wanted Aiyuk so bad. Pickens seemed like only WR on the field. Fields did miss Jefferson at beginning of game but would’ve been minimal gain. It’s early and Roman hasn’t played yet but if someone doesn’t step up and Steelers contending for division and playoffs they have to make a move IMO. No time to panic yet but something to keep eye on. Rams were down to no names besides Cupp last night and guys stepped up. It did help to have Stafford throwing darts to them.

Re: maybe the steelers should focus on other WR options

It's a little unfair to put this on Roman Wilson, but it really is now. This team needs another veteran receiver. Let's hope the Raiders continue to suck and Davante Adams is available via trade at the deadline. Although he has a CAP hit of $44.1 million in 2025 and 2026 when he's 33/34. Not sure I would want to go down that road based on his numbers and age.

But we've played one week. I guess at this point we have to see where this team really is in a few weeks.

We need another weapon. Will wait for Russ to see if its the WR’s or Fields being a 1 read and run QB on most plays.

They have Pickens and a bunch of 4’s…maybe Roman Wilson becomes a 3.

maybe the steelers should focus on other WR options

The formula is to add a real WR one or two. You can’t keep trotting out a one, two fours and a six. Roman Wilson is not the answer. He will help but he’s not that guy. It’s silly. Doesn’t work.

I mean look at what Pickens is doing…he’s making a huge difference out there. Get one more above competent WR and they are golden…thing is…I think they know this.

Aiyuk was obviously one. But going forward and looking around the league, a Courtland Sutton type would be ideal. One of the guys from Green Bay (Doubs, Watson, Reed) would all qualify IMO. A guy from Tennessee (Berks). Which therein lies the problem…you need to find a trade partner.

Basically a guy that will be a little bit threatening opposite of Pickens and not just window dressing or someone that no team is afraid of even a little bit.

Free agent-wise, the only one I would consider an upgrade would probably be Hunter Renfrow…for those who wanted Tyler Boyd, he’s that player. Randall Cobb? Meh…

Re: maybe the steelers should focus on other WR options

    Making do with a few

For the first time in three games, the Steelers played with just four wide receivers.

    Or did they?

They appeared to be short-handed when Roman Wilson didn’t dress after being a full practice participant Thursday and Friday. Ben Skowronek, activated the first two weeks to help on special teams, was on injured reserve, and the Steelers didn’t make a move to elevate another receiver from the practice squad.

That left the Steelers with George Pickens, Calvin Austin, Van Jefferson and Scotty Miller. The number dwindled to three when Jefferson missed a big chunk of the game with an eye injury.

Tomlin, though, was quick to remind that Patterson was a receiving option, which meant the Steelers weren’t short on numbers at all. Patterson even was credited with the start at receiver when he lined up along with Pickens and Jefferson for the first snap. He lined up in the backfield on just four of his 23 offensive plays.

Patterson chipped in with three catches for 15 yards and four carries for 33. He still has not gotten a chance to test the new kickoff rules as opponents continue to kick the ball deep into the end zone.

Filling in for Jefferson was Miller, who had two catches for 31 yards. His 20-yard catch in the first half set up the Steelers’ first touchdown. His 11-yard reception in the third quarter led to the tying field goal.

Not sure I’d want DHop over Kirk but Christian Kirk would be a nice one opposite GP. DHop would be a nice consolation prize if they couldn’t get Kirk. Especially his work ethic and maybe it’d rub off on GP.

CP was originally a WR when he came out of college then teams started using him as RB. Usually the Steelers do it the other way around lol. (See Greg Hawthorne and Dwight "hands of" Stone who were originally RBs then converted to WR.)

Wonder what they would need to actually do this?

Also....if the Raiders would be only focused on the highest return....gotta figure that the Chiefs would basically trade the farm and the house and the tractor to get this done....

I would be shocked if the Raiders traded with the Chiefs.

Roman Wilson has to be getting close, right? I'm not putting everything on him but he does equate to a receiving threat outside of Pickens.

I wonder if CP can't play, if they have to play Roman. CP was in essence the 5th receiver. Other team injuries and inactives will obviously play a part.

I’d do whatever to get Adams. Whatever is realistic. Raiders would have to eat salary. Would have to probably give picks and players to get him.

Last week Tomlin said Roman Wilson had to learn the offense.

What if the Jets trade for Adams? I’d give up a lot to get Garrett Wilson instead…I’d also give them a first round pick and Najee for Breece Hall as well.

Seems like the like burying the two of them because Rodgers isn’t a fan.

What's the kid been doing this whole time while injured? Eating cheetos in-between bong hits?

I can't imagine it's that hard to learn since this seems to be one of the more simple offenses in the NFL.
