He has some very good traits. I think he probably needs to add 15-20 lbs of good weight to be able to hold up in this scheme at the NFL level.
I like him as a player and see some upside to him. He just has some limitations at his current size. I'm interested to see what he can become with some NFL weight training and nutrition, and an entire offseason going into year 2 if he can make the roster this season or goes to the practice squad.
As long as we don't try to make him an outside linebacker.
I went back and watched his Combine workout and a few things stood out.
- He is lean at 281lbs and can put on a few more pounds if needed.
- Lee moves well, a good athlete at that size. Handled the change of direction and bag agility drill really well with a decent center of gravity. Carl Dunbar was running the drill.
- Daniel Jeramiah mentioned multiple times that Lee shows "violent hands" on tape.
I think he has a good shot at making the 53. A good run defender that is a good athlete and might be a healthy scratch for a few games, but I think can work into being a solid 3-4DE. He has short arms, which might not be great when dealing with OT's and maybe he even bulks up and becomes a Chris Hoke kind of NT.
I think as a DE he can be a guy that gives depth like Travis Kirschke did. Even if he doesnt make the 53, he might not get poached from the PS unless he puts some good reps on tape in the preseason. Tough Iowa guy that grew up a Steelers fan.
Have to see how he does in TC vs the OL to get any hint of his ceiling for 2024. NFL weight room and nutrition training, and a season with Dunbar. I look forward to him in 2025 for now.
a more athletic Brett Keisel?

signed his rookie deal today
Kenny Pickett is who I though he was .. 4 teams in 5 years and traded twice in one off season
Maybe Linemen are just more athletic than they were in comparison 20 years ago. Lee doesnt jump off the tape to me as a guy that can track down guys in the backfield or in space like Keisel did in his time. Maybe more athletic in testing, but again I see Lee with a game more like Travis Kirschke than Keisel, but maybe he will show me that I dont know squat?
I think it will come down to whether Lee will be able to add good weight and keep his quickness and explosion. If he is able to do that, the added weight and power will show with more quick wins at the LOS and if he can finish with his quickness he will pop on tape much more. When watching him on tape I think his thin frame makes you think he should be making more plays with pure speed and quickness, but with added weight and power along with improving his technique will help him with shedding blockers more quickly and getting a half a step closer to ball carriers and quarterbacks will give him a much greater impact on the game.
Of course, all that is dependent on whether he is able to put on that weight, get stronger, improve his technique, and keep his quickness. Not an easy task or everyone would be doing it.
Keisel always had the sneaky speed and quickness and retained it after he added weight to hold up at the NFL level.
I like testing numbers and RAS metrics as much or more than the next fella.
BUT…BUT…it’s becoming clear that draft prospects are training to put up workout numbers not play football.
Then they go back to playing football and that workout disappears.
And I’m not talking about workout warriors. I’m talking about everyone.
I think the testing numbers are skewed.
Cameron Heyward is 35, Larry Ogunjobi and Dean Lowry are 30 and Montravius Adams will be 29.
The Steelers really could use a player like Logan Lee to become part of the DL rotation.
If none of the younger DL like Lee, Leal or Loudermilk step up then DL is going to be a high priority in next year's draft.
